i didnt know where to ask this so i put it here.

I always thought the amon sul map was small and unempressive, so i am attempting to make it into a fortresslooks like it should, a fortress that stopped the Witch-king's amies from conquering the north for years. But i need some advise on what size is ok for most people, because i dont know. Thanks

This is the resizing:

I think that Amon Sul Fortress should be a playable map in WotR if you're playing the Fall of Arnor scenario... having it ruined already just doesn't make sense.

On the subject of your map, it looks a bit like overlapping squares right now, but I'm sure you plan to fix that. :p Also, you may want to add a back wall so the enemy can't just come in through the swamp. :p

@ Nethelen: I've been around... but you may not have been. :p

@ Ranger: I missed the "small and unimportant" part... and I agree that the fortress should definitely have been a bit bigger. Maybe add a second line of walls, since it was the master fortress of the border defenses and you really don't get enough building room?

I'm assuming that the south wall segment will eventually arc around and hit the west side of the map... am I correct?

Nah, a wall hitting a lake wouldn't make much sense. Perhaps the walls could close off the lake, and you could have it hit a series of hills on the western edge.

Can anyone tell me how to make the border bigger, because its cutting off the back of the fortress?

Either File or Edit, find resize, and change the map border setting.

You may also be able to drag a corner of the border.

Thanks, i couldn't make the border bigger so i just coppied the terrain, it took a while but it less annoying.

I obviously have to do alot of texturing work, but if anyone has any ideas on how to make it better, im all ears.

Amon sul

Edit: This is my redesign of amon sul, this is just the start but i think you get the idea

I would keep the original walls, but make them walkable. The second circle of walls could be the regular ones with the towers. :p

Either add in new walls, or improvise with raising terrain and placing objects in front of that.

The newest version is really good, although i think that you should make the walls walkable (i don't know how but you could ask someone)

Maybe make some more walls at the back, it looks like it is really weak there. I mean, if you fight against Dwarves with Undermine, you won't stand long you know. And it would look more realistic.

If you're going to use different walkable walls, I'd use Minas Tirith's, personally. Putting a wall circle around the tower with perhaps two gates would work wonders for the fortress. (Two gates in different places would also give it a unique feel, rather than carbon-copies like MT/MM in BFMEII.) :p

Looks pretty good, to tell the truth.

Although, I was thinking that a concentric castle might be good for Amon Sul.

Basically, a two level MT kinda thing.
