THE SACRED FORM
RPG Name: The Secret Tome
RPG Description: When an ancient book releases the characters from every story ever written into the world, a group of book-loving humans must team up with the heroes to put things right.
RPG Leaders: Me (Copaman is implied, I presume?)
Subforums:
The Book Club ~ Character Submission
~ Where the book club started by Michael meets for the first time.
The Attic ~ OOC Discussion and all that rot...
~ Where the members of the book club plot out their next move against the enemy.
The Library ~ Where people put all of the stuff that I don't know about their stories! :glare:
~ Where the book club hangs out and reads in their spare time.
The Quest ~ Chapters and all that other rot, including character backstory/side-plots.
~ Where the war to amend the damage done by the Tome is waged.

RPG Plot and Stuff
Timeframe: The Present.

Michael always loved reading books... so when he found a dusty leather-covered volume in his grandfather's attic, he expected another great read. But the book was magical, and when Michael opened its pages he found that Earth had changed: characters from every story ever written, scripted, or even programmed had broken forth into the real world; but not only the heroes were there. Chaos had been sown everywhere, and great evils now walked the streets of his quiet suburb. A confederation of the Dark Lords, who had quickly chummed up, stole the Tome and began using it to create more of their ilk. In order to restore peace to the world, Michael and his newfound friends must destroy the Tome.

This is more of a freeform RP, and the rule is that you can take any character from anywhere and roleplay as them; but you also need to have a human character. Anyone game?

Confirmed Stories (to be included)
Star Wars
Lord of the Rings
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Halo Series
The Chronicles of Narnia
Ranger's Apprentice (if you haven't read it, do so! ;))
The Riverside Shakespeare (basically, all of Shakespeare's plays)
Doom
Half-Life
Harry Potter
Redwall Series
Psi-Ops
Ender's Game
The Matrix
Inheritance Cycle
(All Classical Mythology)

Suggestions? Put 'em through.

RPG SUPPORTERS and their characters...
Me ~ (Michael Pendragon), Link, Ranger Halt, Matthias the Warrior
Vithar ~ (Mike), Commander Cody, Elrond
Vortigern ~ (???), Prospero, Obi-Wan
SWG ~ (???), Gordon Freeman, (Doom Guy)
Copaman ~ (???), Master Chief, Neo, Luke Skywalker
TLOC ~ (Jacob), Nick Scryer, Zelda
Rafv Nin IV ~ (Majduddin Mamoud), Mercutio, Bean
mike ~ (???), Achilles, Beowulf
neutron4ever ~ (John), Pippin, Merry
Durandel ~ (Richard), The Marked One, Mercenary Scar
Florisz ~ (Isn't sure yet...)
Morvir ~ (Isn't sure either...)

Michael, Ranger Halt, and Link. ;)

@ Vithar: I suppose it has some symbolic meaning... in the Bible, Michael was said to be the prince who would save mankind. Plus it's a cool name. :glare:

My reason for asking: my name is Michael. And, coincidentally, I like to read...

Anyways, I think I'd have to go with...Mike as my human, Commander Cody, and Elrond.

Rule of three FTW!

Heh, this could be really fun. It sounds like that film that came out a while back, Inkheart, I think it was called. Where they read stories and the stories come to life around them. Anyway, yeah. Legolas vs. Obi-Wan. :p Shotgun!
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

That's for FZM to decide. He is the head honcho around here, after all, and I should really stop stealing his thunder. :p Anyway, the reason I put up the LotR RP without consulting him was that it had so much support from all corners, but this so far has four or five players, which is just enough for a decent RPG. Wait and see what else comes around until FZM's next visit, then yes, you'll probably get to be hosted. Congratulations.

@ Vort: Inkheart was a book for five years before it was ever a movie. I didn't see the film for fear it would be worse than the book, which was trash reading that had a cool premise.

This sounds pretty fun, though. I claim Iago (I can play as the bad guy, right? He's not really evil, just...a guy who thinks everybody slept with his wife). I'll do Mercutio too if I don't have to write in iambic pentameter all the time. Although that'd probably be good for me.

I also claim Din, Oracle of Seasons if you'll let me have that much power :)

How about Psi-Ops?
If it's included, then I wanna be the main guy (forgot his name) and Princess Zelda :) She kicks ass!
EDIT:I just noticed that Zelda is a minor character. Does that mean I can't be her?

Pick any minor character you want. They're there for inspiration... :)

Ravnin, I'll give you Mercutio... Din is going to be an N[S]PC (non-specific player character) like Aslan because of the power stuff, and as for Iago, I think you're thinking of Othello. So I'll give you Othello. :p

Everyone, get yourselves some human names.

...yes, some of you should be girls. Don't worry, I won't ask you to read *shudders* Twilight... :p

Hmmm... you're allowed three characters: your human and two story characters. If you want to go all Shakespeare like Ravnin, I don't see why not. :)
