Please people, tell me if I'm doing something wrong.

I'm having problems with the Skirmish maps and although I'm trying to read most of the toppics here I might have overlooked some hints.

1. The Space Skirmish Maps are in the "Custom Maps" tab which is ok, I suppose, but I have each map listed twice. Shouldn't there be only one map of each kind or shouldn't the other one be in the "official maps" category?

2. The AI units come out of hypespace always at the same spot which allows for killing them almost instantly with a few well placed ships. I suppose this has something to do with problem No. 3 though.

3. The AI units behave completely dumb. They fly around the map aimlessly shooting anything that comes in their range, very rarely managing to destroy anything this way. If by a rare accident they manage to stay in the vincinity of a mine or defense satellite long enough then they build it but that happened really once or twice in a lot of gameplay time. I played on all difficulty levels with all sides. I remember an old topic about the scout function of the AI going haywire but that was a long time ago and surely before version 1.1... Can this still be the same problem?

I installed and patched fresh copies of EAW and FOC and PR is in the Mods folder. I don't know what else to try :p

Using this opportunity I'd like to add that despite some minor problems and an incredible GC lag in ver. 1.1 (on my slow computer ) this mod is an absolutely stunning piece of work and I'd like to congratulate all of you (few ;) ) who helped create it. Thanks to this mod this is the only game that I keep coming back to.

Thanks PR !

try setting the objective to "desrtoy enemy space station" instead of "destroy enemy." They're alot more focused that way. Other than that, we're all stuck in the same boat on the thinking ability of the AI. The double maps thing is also something else everybody has.

Thanks, that really helped.

Btw, I just noticed there are "pirate starting forces" entries for Jomark and Wayland in the Outer Rim campaign file, but the planet is actually in the Inner Rim (at least according to the new maps).

I just noticed there is a pirate force on Talay (Outer Rim campaign), which is a Rebel starting planet.

Download the newer Campaign Packs from the Releases Page. If those are the versions you have, get the updated Slim Campaigns from here. They should have no faction overlaps.

Yes, I did have a new slim campaign download from the Releases Page. Now I'll try the updated ones, thanks for the tip. :p

I just noticed there is a pirate force on Talay (Outer Rim campaign), which is a Rebel starting planet.

Are you sure that isn't v1.0? I thought we got that for v1.1.

I'm pretty sure I double-checked this but apparently noone else seems to notice it so maybe I was just double-mistaken. :p
I had different versions of the campaigns files so maybe I mixed something up.

Anyway, thanks for the reply.
