I have found a new ground bug.

Every time infantry attempt an unarmed strike in hand-to-hand combat, a 'fatal exception' occurs and the game crashes.

Somone trying to be funny or is it just me?

Any ideas on the source of this one? The hard points and projectiles look fine.

How in the world did you keep them alive long enough to get them that close? O_o

<DevXen> Today I was at the store and saw a Darth Vader action figure that said "Choking Hazard." It was great.

I am doing a total revamp of land forces. Life, Armour, accuracy, damage, armour piercing, unit numbers, spacings, rate of fire - it's all new.

Infantry now die in a blaze of lazer bolts. The infantry still die rapidly, but they now take things down as they go.

Besides, I found the bug on a 'no vehicles allowed' battle!

I tested it out the other day and it seems to work. I had a platoon of imperial army troopers attack a rebel pilot, and instead of shooting, they closed the distance and stood around him and the pilot just died, as well as most of my platoon (they were largley killed by the one pilot). No crash either.

I have found a new ground bug.

Hmm, I suspected as much before the release, but I wasn't really able to pin it down. In one case that I recall, I believe I had Obi-Wan slicing down some Army Troopers when it crashed. Since I've had hand-to-hand working just fine in other instances, I figured it was something wrong with the lightsaber, so I never got to the bottom of it.

From with you've described, it sounds like it crashed on first strike - as it did for me with Obi-Wan - opposed to first death (nothing should die from one unarmed strike unless health is dangerously low). This is important because special death clones (e.g., <Death_Clone>Damage_Crush, Stormtrooper_Crush_Death_Clone</Death_Clone>) are a known (and at one point, widespread) cause of exceptions, specifically when you reference animations that don't exist for a given model - or otherwise try to override them on the death clone with one that does, as I did at one point (bad, bad idea with Alamo, it would seem - don't try it).

So at least we know it's not that bug again, but otherwise, I have few positive leads. Perhaps the best course of action at this point is just to see if it's still a problem after some land changes that could be fairly dramatic...
