How to edit mods

I wanted to edit parts of Tiberium Essence, how would i go about it such as adding in a unit or changing stats like with ini. I get the file in the form of .big.

Not possable.

C&C3 .big files have most of their contents encoded.

When the Mod SDK's BuildMod program compiles together a mod, its contents are encrypted beyond anything useful to the end user. Unless a mod distributes its uncompiled code as well, you're not getting anything out of them.

Also, unless you're doing it privately with no intention of releasing it to anyone or anywhere, editing and distributing other people's work without their permission is seriously punished throughout the community. Including here. No ripping other people's work.

yeah i wasnt planning on redistributing it, i just wanted to slightly edit it for personal use, but ok thanks guys.
