This is a RotWK mod

Well, I finally decided my mod is ready for beta testing. Early beta testing, that is. Very early, still.

Unfortunately, only one faction is ready for gameplay: Men.

In my next release Mordor will be playable as well.

I'll take a few (maybe five) people to release it to. If you are interested, please post about any beta testing experience you have, and whatnot.

////

This is a relatively small mod so far. There isn't really a set goal for the mod, so it's kinda just like whatever I feel like adding to the game.

And to beta testers, if you catch any bugs, let me know of course.

WotR and Skirming testing would be appreciated.

////

A few more things. This is a RotWK mod, so be aware of that.

It would be appreciated if Testers could give any suggestions for the mod. The main thing that is lacking at the moment that I'd like is another upgrade or two from the stoneworker: at the moment it only has Numenor Stonework.

////

A few of the features to the mod:

Age of Empires-like age system.
Legolas and Gimli playable for the men faction, after purchasing the Three Hunters upgrade (Aragorn also requires this upgrade,)
Merry and Pippin available for the men faction.
More realistic structure system; they take longer to build and are stronger vs. non-siege units.
Different WotR gameplay; you no longer get porters unless you have a fortress.

Hmmm.. ah, eh... right. You can post them here, I guess. Or PM them to me. There's not really a good way to do it for a non-hosted mod.

Edit: Ah, and I am working on a list of the features it changes. I will post these later today, but right now I can't.

Here are the changes to the game made in the mod. Hopefully I remember everything.

General Features

The game has been partially rebalanced:
-Structures cost more and take longer to build, but are far stronger against units.
-Heroes have more dodge but less health

Age system: You must purchase a general faction upgrade to increase your faction "age". This will allow the purchasing of new units and upgrades. Following this, you will no longer have to upgrade your structure level to unlock new units and upgrades, but increasing the level will still speed-up training. In a future version, a BFME1-like system for structure leveling will be implemented. There are a total of four ages you can be at, including the starting age.

Faction-Specific Features

MotW:

Merry and Pippin Playable: Merry and Pippin are now playable for the MotW faction at age 1. Merry also has a new Barrow Blade ability that is a fairly strong attack, but it's best against the Witch-King and weakens him.

Three Hunters Upgrade: Gimli and Legolas are also available to MotW, but, along with aragorn, only after the three hunters upgrade, which can be purchased at the fortress. You must advance to age four before you can research this.

Aid of the Istari Upgrade: To slow down time before Gandalf is purchased, you must first purchase the Aid of the Istari upgrade at the fortress. It requires age four to be purchased.

Gandalf the White Upgrade: Now Gandalf requires the Gandalf the white upgrade to become Gandalf the white. It is purchasable at the fortress after the Aid of the Istari is purchased.

Changes to Gandalf the Grey and White: Gandalf is made more powerful. He maintains his high health (3000+) while the other heroes drop, but his dodge is still increased to about %90. His spells are also more powerful, but he takes more experience to level up. The bubble shield is also added back, and hopefully it will work identically to the way it did in BFME1.
-Gandalf the White upgrade Increases his spell damage drastically, and cut's their time in half. His health also doubles with the upgrade. Gandalf the White is no longer needed to mount Shadowfax, however, as in the books he used Shadowfax as Gandalf the Grey.

Tom Bombadil: Tom Bombadil is made much stronger and is given Galadriel's Nature's Wrath. The Tom Bombadil spell is made a tier four spell replacing earthquake, and is replaced in the second tier by Elven Wood.

Mordor:

All nine Nazgul playable: All nine Nazgul are now playable, but only after the Morgal Sorcery upgrade, which no longer improves armor of the fortress. The Morgal Sorcery Upgrade requires age four.

New Hero Grishnakh: Grishnakh is available as an early-game hero for Mordor at age one. He is comparably to a Hobbit, and has Wormtongue's Escape ability.

WotR Features

Porters in RTS mode: You no longer start with porters in rts mode. You can purchase them if you have a fortress or are on a fortess map, though. This really changes gameplay and adds more realism to WotR.

Commandpoints: Cammandpoints are increased on the living world map.

Oh right, thanks. Gandalf the white, too? I thought I saw that one in.

Sorry, I meant to disable the stoneworker until it was ready.

Do you still need testers, or are you set? I'm willing to test if necessary (RotWK could use some changes, and I have yet to find a good RotWKmod {apart from RJ-RotWK} so I'll help if you want me to}). If not, then I'm fine with that too.

I used to be {AE}Manveru, if that rings a bell.

Well, I'm not in need of any. There isn't really enough done much as far as bugs. I'll probably finish up all the factions and then release it again.

I have made Isengard but I haven't done any testing, so I could have it up in a few days if I do it. I'm a little bit occupied with some Rohan stuff I'm working on now, though.

OK. As I said, I don't mind either way. (Or did I not say that? I did now.) So, when the new release comes out I'll test if I can, but if not, I won't track you down and hack your computer or anything. XD

I used to be {AE}Manveru, if that rings a bell.

Alright. I might release it after Isengard's finished. After that I plan to do Dwarves, Elves and Goblins in that order. I don't plan on including Angmar, but maybe Harad or something, eventually.

I'll probably make a public release after all six BFME2 factions are done. Maybe in a few months.
