I don't think we should put a limit on heroes

No. it's a bad idea

And why 4-8 in the poll?
I mean, if there were to be a default amount of heroes, I'd say 3...
But I like it better when not all factions are way to close...

I think of it like Greece have the support of a few heroes and good troops.... dicipline :xd: while Vikings are harsh warriors who have many heroes to go on killing sprees themselves almost :p

Like Helm Hammerhand.

I think the number of Heroes, and their strengths and powers, can be well balanced with the faction overall. This can mean a unique number of heroes per faction. At least three heroes probably, and no more than maybe twelve.
Greetings, community.

Ok, the one main thing I think we should do with the heroes is make them more hero-ish, like Sharku and the Warg-riders make a perfect combination, why not do the same with Leonidas and the Spartans? If you get my point I tihnk we should make the heroes an important aspect of the gameplay/strategy.

Perhaps more for some factions than others. Why not discuss specific hero information for Greece or Vikings?
Greetings, community.

Should the heroes be real people, real people exaggerated, or mythic?

Probably depends on the faction. Some of each would probably be fine.

Most Mythic heroes were probably based on real people, anyway.

Both factions have an incredible amount of lore, for the historical as well as the mythological part. So, all heroes should be based on 'real' historical/mythological heroes, and their names too. IMO the question is the 'interpretation' of those into the game. :p

Yeah, and CaH will be great for players to make up their own heroes.

Now the topic name is just "Heroes/CaH" as for making heroes mythological, I say their later powers should be, but their early powers shouldn't be.

Um... but they can be heroes from mythology :p

I don't think it has anything to do with powers.

I was talking about if there were any heroes who were said to have been like inspired by the gods or something.

Greek heroes are the ones most known to us, i guess...
A small list of heroes could be:

-Achilles
-Leonidas of Sparta
-Ajax
-Odysseus

If the suggestion of Alexander the Great comes up: No, he was no real "hero" to begin with, he was three or more steps above that level. Historicly speaking, if Alexander would be called, the other factions should be instantly defeated...

*just so you know, I'm an Alexander fan, if fan is the right word to call me that...*

The mythological heroes were way more overpowered. :p but I agree. The heroes should be kept to the old Greek Myths.

There were quite a few heroes in AoM for Greece, because you unlocked one at each age (a total of four), and they were different depending on your major god. There was Ajax, Arkantos, Odysseus, Hercules, Hippolyta, Jason, Achilles, Perseus (who could turn people to stone with Medusa's head), Chiron and some others. Possibly Circe (in the campaign at least, I don't know about random maps). I guess twelve if there weren't duplicates.

I don't think Arkantos had any real bases in Mythology, though.
