(In ancient Greece, the psiloi usually belonged to the poorest citizen classes, sometimes even unfree conscripts would be employed, such as the Peloponnesian Eilotes. They were armed with a variety of missile weapons, like bows (toxa), javelins (akontia), slings (sfendonai) or even stones (lithoi), wore no armor and usually bore no shield. For defensive purposes they would be also equipped with a dagger or shortsword. If naked, they would be called gymnitai.
The psiloi were trained as skirmishers. Their task was to harass the enemy phalanx before the clash, try to provoke disorder and protect their own lines from the skirmishing activity of the enemy. They would be sent to occupy imposing terrain around and within the battlefield, as well as in any way disrupt the enemy during his march, deployment or encampment. Just before the charge of the line, the psiloi would be recalled through the phalanx and further deployed behind it or on its wings. They would avoid close combat with heavier opponents, unless they occupied especially favorable terrain.)
-and-
(Psiloi, being often used as a broad term to describe types of unarmored or lightly armored infantry, have often been more explicitly referred to by other names, such as gymnitai (naked) or evzonoi (light armored), grosfomachoi (swordsmen), akontistai (javelineers), sfendonitai (slingers), toxotai (bowmen) or lithovoloi (stone throwers). The peltastai (targe bearers) are often categorized as an intermediary infantry type, later grouped either with the psiloi or the heavy infantry, according to their main tactical role.)
For ranged units, the toxatai would be the bowmen, and the peltast would have been a javelineer. For siege there are a lot of options, such as war towers, catapults, ballista, rams, etc. For the calvary there was the prodromoi, or light calvary.
For elite units there are a lot of options, with the Spartan hoplite, the Sacred Band of Thebes, the Agrianoi (elite peltasts), Thessalian Calvary, and Cretan archers.
Since the classical greeks were much more focused on armies consisting of mostly hoplites, the greeks could be a faction with a lower choice of units, but more upgrades for those they do have.
Some examples of Bronze Age greeks that could be in game, based on
Hoplite1-2 Swordsmen
1-2 Spearmen
1-2 Archers
1-2 Cavalry
1-2 Siege
1 "Elite" (or god-specific, in this case)
Toxote
Peltast
Prodromoi
Some sort of Psiloi?
Catapult
(2nd siege unit Tower? Ballista?)
Posiedon -Thessalian Calvary
Zeus - Sacred Band? Spartan Hoplite?
Hades - Gastraphete (crossbow)?

*not because it was too much like AoM, I think, but rather because we just decided against it, for whatever reason, in the polls.

EmpireRuler: I still go for the multi-era greece so we can have a more fun array of units. Plus the pikes/sarissa have got to be there
Sounds interesting, but since the Greeks aren't our most technologically advanced faction we can't add much to them as upgrades. I can't think of other than the usual armor, weapon and banner carrier upgrades (Bronze breastplate, etc).Since the classical greeks were much more focused on armies consisting of mostly hoplites, the greeks could be a faction with a lower choice of units, but more upgrades for those they do have.

I don't think I've heard anyone else but you give a clear opinion on the subject
Anyone?
As a personal opinion, I do not think it should have myth units, only myth powers, as it is called o Mod, not mythology, and using myth spells and not myth creatures, would allow it to fit to BFME2 while not copying what other games have done, like AoM and AoE.

Careful. This link is DANGEROUS. Do NOT click it. This one, however, is fine.
I had the meaning of life in my signature, but it exceeded the character limit.

I did picture summons being included in this. Heroes should have bonuses against Mythic units.
