 *cringes away from Puppeteer* :)

Well, I'm not a big fan of slasher crime, but I think that psychological crime-based could yield some interesting results. Somewhat like Poe's Tell-tale Heart. *shivers* Now that was an amazing work. Gave me nightmares for two weeks afterward (I read it at age 11).

Maybe your age helped with the nightmares?

I'd participate, but I not keen on writing a story on crime. Just not my style, wouldn't feel right.

I side with Vithar; it's not my style. I'll do it anyway, though. It'd probably be from the point of view of a child rapist or some such thing, though, so you can't blame me if it makes me look like some psychopath. :)

I'd rather have a theme more along the lines of Greed, or some such philosophical topic.

Alright, how about we don't make it crime. How about, as a more general version thereof, 'sin'? Vithar and Rav, I'm pretty sure that could keep you within your comfort zones.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

I was thinking more along the lines of the Tarantino masterpieces 'Reservoir Dogs' and 'Pulp Fiction'. Would be crime too, right? (albeit with lots of black humour)
It has been reported that some victims of rape, during the act, would retreat into a fantasy world from which they could not WAKE UP. In this catatonic state, the victim lived in a world just like their normal one, except they weren't being raped. The only way that they realized they needed to WAKE UP was a note they found in their fantasy world. It would tell them about their condition, and tell them to WAKE UP. Even then, it would often take months until they were ready to discard their fantasy world and PLEASE WAKE UP

Hmmm... sin opens a whole new dark, ominous alleway for me. I'll go with that! :xcahik_:

*Odd that TLOC hasn't shown up in 2 pages of this topic... but nobody tell him. :)*

I don't want to take part in the writing contest, so I've been lurking. And, it's not colored damn yellow, it's ink sketch-ified.

Still, it smells and sounds like it's yellow.

In the spirit of the thing, allow me to correct your grammar. You can't end a sentence with a preposition. Grammar Nazified!

Also: TLC, sorry, but that picture is definitively yellow.

So yeah, write something during the month of June and we'll sort out minor details soon enough.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

You and pedophiles. You even added a pedophile into "Narrative of a Necrophile." By the way, I've referenced that several times in poetry classes, just to see my teachers wince. I bet you'd get a kick out of it. ;)

Well, I couldn't think of anything besides "pedophile" that rhymed with "necrophile." And yes, I'm quite happy that my work has been freely distributed into English classrooms the world over. :p

Well, go ahead, but the competition is officially only taking place during the month of June, because I have exams and I'm guessing so do at least some of you. Anyway, you can start now if you like, it doesn't really bother me, but you may have to discard it later on if I decide to be a hard-ass about the rules.
