No, just want to see if we can get forum RTS's to work. Durandel (formerly known as General Jenkins) had one, called Earthen Battles 4 or something like that.

Then I suggest you finish up with Spec Ops before trying to start another one under your leadership.

People have led more then one RP before, and it worked out fine until the whole RP recession, then none of them worked.

RP recessions happen because of an overload of RPs. We already have eight, and although two more have enough support to start, their leaders decided to wait until more space opens. Yet another, however unique, won't work out so well.

Actually, the recession was caused by people leaving, like Cheschire Fox and Southsidediablo.

no, it was mainly due to an overload of Rp's...
As it is now many of these Rp's we have running could be shut down, they aren't experiencing any activity and i feel that really its border line on having to many for the number of Rp'ers (i mean regular, active Rp'ers, not randoms who come in make one post and never come again).
We need to get the whole place started up again. Get the stories rolling and the people posting.

Yeah, Foxy leaving was only a very small part of it. A lot of the activity around when Nowe took over the Frontier was friends of his who contributed to Arsencia and Worlds of War for a bit and then disappeared. Most of the reason for the overall RPG inactivity was that everyone wanted their own RPG, including me. But not everybody can have their own. All of you should listen to that!

TLC, exactly how active is Spec Ops? How far along the storyline have you come?

Also, Durandel's RPG was called Earthen Conflicts VII, as I recall.

I seem to remember a certain confusion however with VII and IV when it came to that...

Spec Ops is about to start the second mission in chapter 1, and I think there are a total of 4 or 5 missions in this chapter.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but my experimental RP didn't turn out so great, not many people joined and battles rarely saw one or two posts a day, to much was left out in the open and it failed horribly.

In order to make this a success, a lot of factors an RTS has needs to be implemented. FPS's use easy, tried-and-successful ideas; RTS's are more experimental and require more factors, because your not controlling one character, your supervising a full blown war at your fingertips.

EDIT: Now, I will say it's failure was mainly my failure to research and establish defaults, if I went at a second try, I might be able to establish all the givens needed, but getting it off to a good start with a small member base and the mind of a 13 year old (which although wishes he had the knowledge of an adult, doesn't) isn't easy.

I have the knowledge that all adults have, and knowledge that a 15-year-old math geek has. I might as well have the knowledge of an adult :wink_new:

I have to say, TLC, that you do not have the knowledge of an adult. There is more to the world than facts. A certain degree of maturity is required to understand the world as an adult, and I hate to say it, but you wouldn't be playing RPGs on an internet forum if you had that degree. I don't either, don't worry. :wink_new:

I was actually talking about myself, but since you went ahead and added yourself to the equation, I guess that goes for you to.

Knowledge counts for nothing in the real world; only results. Trust me, I know... :good:
