Well, I just saw(well, copy-pasted) a conversation between CTLN7 and Ring of Fate about bombarding. I am done with it. Yes, bombarding is a very good tactic, but I find that it's range is too big, because, you can't shoot half the map. So, I suggest that the range of the bombarding gets at least halved.

So, I think, some people don't like the bombarding. I agree, but it's very usefull. I say, well, sugest, that the bombarding range gets reduced by half. I hope people agree with me and that we never have to see such terrible conversations again about such a silly subject!

Unless you had the permission of everyone involved in the conversation, you're not allowed to post that up.

Maybe not halved, but the range should be reduced some.

I'd say reduce the range and increase the spread rate or decrease the damage done per projectile.

Yeah, a range decrease (or perhaps you could make them bombard a bigger radius so they have less accuracy) would be great for most of them, but there may be some who don't need it and could be overnerfed :good:

Elves could do with the larger radius deal.

I think Bombard as a tool for archers ought to have a slight range decrease, but for siege ought to have a range increase, with a corresponding accuracy decrease the farther you are away from the target.

Yes and no.

Yes to range decrease for archers... bombarding isn't sniping... it's shooting a lot of arrows for damage over a large radius.
Kwantity for instead of kwality, bombarding always goes in an arc so it's range should (realistically) be less than the normal attack.
(Range of bombarding should be more than the normal attack, or else it won't be uesful anymore)

Yes and no to the sige thing.
Yes for wall and expansion mounted siege and no to mobile.
As of now, wall mounted siege has a shorter range than mobile siege.
I said it before: It should be hard to mount a succesfull siege... not easy!?
Now you just spam alot of siege engines some anti building units and the basee comes down in a matter of minutes.
Mounted siege engines should be bigger, stronger, heavily armored and have a larger range, while mobile siege engines would be light armored, fast moving, slightly weaker and have a much smaller fire radius.

Experience has thought me that one mounted siege enige can be bested by one of his mobile counterparts by far... which I think isn't right.

Heres my thoughts:

- Range decrease, so the range is a little more than the normal shooting range.

- Decrease the relod time, 1 shot every 3 seconds. But have units firing at different times.

- Damage decrease, 2/3 of normal damage.

I think that will make bombard a heck of a lot fairer.

and my thoughts

-change the range based on the unit using it (i.e. elf archers larger range and compared to goblin or orcs)
-increase radius affected while decreasing damage
-increase reload time, considering it takes more power to shoot farther

in the case of catapults and other artillery
-the range should either stay the same or increase a little
-perhaps the machine needs to be deployed or something like that before bombard can be used
-increase the affected area by perhaps double the original
-increase the damage done, considering physics, this makes sense as the longer something is in the air, the harder it's going to come crashing down
-reload time increased tremendously

Because it is OP?

*Yes, I know Wildmen of Dunland with Torches are also OP, so they either need a big debuff sort of thing, or be removed as a base unit and turned into an Inn/Summon units only*
