Well, it's sort of been "unofficially announced" but you can tell that Blizzard will never give up on their hit RTS series, as it's just so popular!

Blizzard Co-founder Frank Pearce said last year to videogaming247 exactly this:

“If there’s a team that’s passionate about doing another WarCraft RTS, then that’s definitely something we would consider,”

“It’s nothing that we’re working on right now,”

“We have development teams working on Wrath of the Lich King, StarCraft II, Diablo III, and when those teams are all off the projects they’re working on, they’ll be intimately involved in the the discussions about what’s next.”

So what are your thoughts, do you think that there will ever be a Warcraft 4, and if so, when?

If there will be Warcraft 4, hopefully some warcraft's lore characters came out (such as Old gods, Titans and some burning legion's characters) and make the game story more interesting than Warcraft 3 TFT.

Yeah definitely, the lore is extremely important to Warcraft, and hopefully they'll use it more effectively in WC4 if it does come out.

EDIT: By the way, are you sure you don't want hosting here? Or are you going to wait until you start your next project?

I doubt if Warcraft 4 will come out. World of Warcraft has already extended and mutilated the storyline of the Warcraft series, and the only way to make Warcraft 4 would be to go back to the end of TFT and start there. That'd piss off the WOW fans who'd think that all there hard work leveling and questing had become irrelevant, and WOW is how Blizzard makes most of their money.

It's a shame. I really enjoyed playing the Warcraft RTS's.

I don't understand how WoW comes into WC4? Yeah fine WoW has completely trashed the lore, but I think WC4 only needs a tweak to set it fully back on course. Blizzard may make more money from WoW but Warcraft 3 is also played by loads of people, more than most other RTS games even though it was released at least 4-5 years ago.

I doubt WC4 will come soon though as Blizzard are developing SC2, but I have a feeling that there will be a WC4, or is that just blind hope?

My friend used to play Warcraft... (not WoW) From his game guides, it looked pretty interesting. All I need to do is to get my hands on a copy "4 sale cheep" as Calvin and Hobbes would say.

Bring your flash drive over to your friend's house and load the game files onto it. You don't need the CD to play it.

Alternatively, you could stay legal.

Hey Digz, yeah, I agree with you. Lore is very very important to Warcraft. Im an addicted Warcraft RTS's gamers. =) Yeah I will apply for hosting here but have to wait for my next project. It's soon as since my first project - League of Heroes is going to be release next week. The very first version.

I havent been playing for WoW, I cant really know what the storyline is. But I do think that after the WoW has been released for so long, there are still a lots of people who played Warcraft RTS and do like it very much out there. They would probably like to see what is the next Warcraft RTS is and would willing like to play it.

I do hope it comes out though, it will certainly add a new dimension to DotA, that is if they carry DotA forward.

Well, if it does come out, they already have a storyline for it, since after the events of the Wrath Gate and the battle for the Undercity there's war again between the horde and alliance.

I've never really played the Warcraft RTSes () yet I downloaded WC3 and TFT a while ago. Might go check it out when I'm bored and aren't in a WoW mood.

'Defense of the Ancients' it's a mod for WC3 : TFT that allows you to be one of the made up heroes and take on other players in a hero battle consisting of units either helping you or going against you that belong to the other side.

I've never played WoW, but from what I've seen from videos and different websites, the lore has been deepened yet sacked at the same time. I read somewhere that there was far more different kind of troll tribes, yet in the latest expansion for it, i heard that Arthas is killable. Also, I saw a video where the Pit Lord Magtheridon was taken out and his head placed on a spear or something similar on that matter. I would no doubt like to see a WC4, but if it does get made, have it so it doesnt have a lore problem in any way.

Yeah, I think that they will make WC4 more compatible with Lore, as Warcraft 3 always has been because it's an RTS and the campaigns have to fit in with the Lore, for example BFME1 - actual movie compain, BFME2 - war in the north and RotWK the story before the ring was found when the WK took over Angmar.

hopefully WC4 will just make it so WoW never happened so there is no messed up storyline.
