A massive fleet of Order capital ships appeared out of hyperspace near the home world of the Cythelu. Athatan stood in the observation deck of the foremost ship, gazing out across the blackness of space to the glowing world before him.

"Your blasphemy has gone unchecked for far too long," he proclaimed. "You shall be cleansed with fire and sword!"

With ferocious energy, he punched the large red button on the table before him. Signals went out to every ship in the fleet, and as one they started forward. Starfighters winged their way around the ships in a deadly display of aerial force.

~~~
From the observation deck of another ship, Hyarill was looking at the planet with a different emotion: homesickness. I've not been home for thirty years... and my homecoming is to be one of destruction rather than reconciliation. He gritted his canine teeth. Still, nobody lives forever... I've always wanted to get back at those scum in the government who threw me out for my faith.
The fleet of ships drew ever closer to the planet, which seemed unaware of its imminent destruction.
((Yeah, whatever... your turn, Dur. :tongevil: Maybe Cas could help out too...))
Unknown to the Order, a line of defences hiding from thermal and visible sight opened fire on the massive star fighter fleet, obliterating most and leaving others baffled. The only greetings to the Order's Ships were a flank of 4 or 5 ships on all sides. The home world isn't as insecure as it seems.
Various Ofycers from different fleets opened fire onto the Order's vessels, the attack was definitely planned. Barrages of fire impacted the Order's Fleet continuously.
-------------------
Beyond the hell in space, an over looker on an orbital platform grinned from ear to ear with joy.
"They fell into our trap quite easily, sir. With the fate of their ground Commander, they shall not stand a chance, the loss of leadership will crumble the rest of their disgusting hive."
"But... Was it really necessary?"
"Oh quite, Comyzar. Quite."
Cameron, Comyzar and formal leader of the Cythelu Union, and a new face stared into the devolving battle.
"Killing brethren because of beliefs is madness, why do you believe this is the best course of action?"
The strange man, possibly responsible for the now warring state between the factions, chuckled mysteriously. "It's all according to plan, you will understand in time why this filth must be cleansed."
Another set of well dressed men, decorated and armored like personal guards. "Sir, the Order is declaring war on the Union. Should we-"
"Why must you insist this? We are not a war machine! The public will go mad, this is against our beliefs! Are you mad?"
The mysterious man turned towards the comyzar and only exchanged a few words and left. "You will understand."
Confused, the two canines turned to the Comyzar, inquisitive of the mans plans. "De... Declare War, but at any sign of this weakening down, we must ask for peace immediately, do you understand?" The two young guards nodded in unison and strolled off; followed by a disappointed Comyzar.
Hyarill's ship, the Divine Breath, rocked under the force of massive blasts from the Cythelu artillery. Hyarill staggered; only his supernatural balance kept him afoot. There were panicked yells from the crewmen around him.
"Sir! The ship can't last must longer!"
"Shields to maximum!" barked Hyarill.
"Commander, you must get out! Their artillery is too powerful! Our starfighter screen has been obliterated!"
Hyarill gnashed his teeth angrily. "Very well, then."
He and his guards descended to the hangar as quickly as they could, trying their best to ignore the nauseating swaying of the doomed ship. They bundled into a transport that took off from the hangar at breakneck speed.
Behind Hyarill, the Divine Breath groaned in a tortured screeching of steel. Then, as its shields folded, it disintegrated into nothing. Hyarill's transports sped off to the mostly unharmed main body of capital ships. The ships were forming into a protective sphere around Athatan's flagship, and it was to this that Hyarill was bound. The Cythelu forces were to be welcomed with as much fire as possible.
The battle quieted down as the Capital Ship was torn, it's crew and metal ever to remain in the depths of space. Cythelu pushed the invaders back, only to pull back, anticipating and predicting the next offense. Ships from other planets in the system joined their brethren in battle. The Cythelu began to lick it's wounds before the Order's retaliation, repairing Orbital Batteries and reinforcing positions where lives or ships were lost.
The commander of one ship, a valiant and brave Fleet Admiral, Luthir, prepared the Fleet he commanded for another wave of Order. "Get those Pulse Artillery up and going, Honor Guard! Zeus, I want those Plasma Turrets online today!"
The Admiral had every tactic known to Cythelu memorized to the letter, he was envied by many for his valiance and ability to adapt to almost any battle. He himself seemed a respectful Fox, his eyes were Ice and his voice of a thousand; his stance was stern and disciplined, his mindset hard as stone and loyal to the bone; his men were honoured to be commanded by him. He was, quite literally, one in a million.
The uniqueness and military skill of the Cythelu general did not concern the Order at all. Their smaller ships closed in on the two ships advancing towards them, using their better maneuverability to pick artillery batteries off the surface of the cruisers, then danced again out of the line of fire. All over the battlefield, similar engagements were taking place. Swarms of smaller Order fighters, fighting in disciplined units, circled one of the Cythelu ships, firing at its shield generators. Then, at a signal, all fired at once, incinerating the craft.
Athatan saw the battle taking form and smiled.
Unknown to the hasty invaders - a large flanking fleet caught the larger cruisers by surprise - The Cythelu's very own fighters diced through the now mostly defenceless Cruisers who held the Orders sleek fighters - Main ships were engaged as priorities were chosen and fighter's docking bays grew rare - with no where to dock, the active fighters will be stranded and unarmed.
As the Flanking Diversion grew weak, half of the defencive force charged at the main group of attackers, and with luck the leader of the Operation. As the more damaged ships stayed behind to recover, mostly unscathed ships went into the offense. Cruisers launched their own squads of tightly formed fighters to duke it out with the enemy squads.
