The vote is a yes / no but you've given two options in the question.
Heh, mental lapse... I rewrote the question halfway through. It's supposed to be a yea/nay on splitting. Edit: I reset the poll, so please vote again.
It really depends on the hero. Hero's such as R2-D2 and C3PO should stay together.
I think you could also logically pair R2 with Luke and 3PO with Leia though
. If R2's not with Luke, then who's the astromech in his X-wing (although that's probably less of an issue than the
Falcon's co-pilot)?
Though the awkward question rises for units that each have unique abilities like Han and Chewbacca; if you split them up, what would Chewbacca fly on the galactic map/space? There's only one Millennium Falcon.
Should Han ever get the
Mon Remonda, I think I would be able to put him in that and keep Chewie in the
Falcon, just so it's not sitting in a docking bay somewhere. In that case, I guess they would be paired up until that upgrade took place, although it would depend on how dying/respawning worked (if one was killed, you'd have to wait for the other to die as well before you could rebuild).
Separate
If one dies in land combat do they both die?
No, they would be totally different heroes like Mon Mothma and Garm Bel Iblis.
