Careful. This link is DANGEROUS. Do NOT click it. This one, however, is fine.

I had the meaning of life in my signature, but it exceeded the character limit.

Okay, on to other things I was wondering if we could establish some basic tech that all of the races have.

Here is a list to start us off.

1) Anit-Gravity

2) Artificial Gravity

3) Tractor Beams

now can anyone think of some other tech

These things are ok. Others might have to vary among factions.
Instead of Tractor beam, we should it something else to make WoW a little more unique.
Here is the list of name that I can think of...
- Graviton beam
- Gravimatric beam
- Graviton Tractor

So its still exactly the same thing though, just the name is being 'more unique'?

ah, righty-o then.

Inertia Amplifier/Manipulator/Beam/Harness/Shackle/something.

Inertia is basically the force that makes objects want to stay in their current state. So if you had some Inertia Amplifier it could make something take alot more force to move (or slow down if its already moving).

But then again this is more like a 'holding beam' i guess then a tractor beam.

Anti-repulsor beam?
Attractor Beam
Impulse Grappler
Gravity Net
Physics Vacuum
Zero Point Energy Field Manipulator (although i think this might be ripped from half life 2... i cant quite remember but i know the gravity gun had some more fancy name that was something like this, and in the incredibles(good movie  ) Sydrome has zero point energy thingys that let him sorta grab and freeze people in an energy field)

Well I was trying to think of 'un-unique' tech that everyone can use.

If we all have some base tech then...

1) It would help to curb 'god moding' or whatever you want to call it.

2) It would help new members to think of how their faction works.

3) It would also help new and old members to understand how the WoW universe works.

4) This 'un-unique' tech would allow members to focus their creativity on their stories.

Unique = unique to WoW and not named like other scifi

"Inertial Stablizer" would be a good name (used to counter ship/crew acceleration intertia).

I got another name for the tractor beam, "Gravity/Graviton Projector".

Casojin Star Trek uses Inertial Stablizers.

The whole point of this list was to use tech that everyone had at least heard of so that we can move ahead.

Now if people want to come up with names that their race/faction use for these techs I think that would fill the creativly naming role.

So here is the list so far,

1) Anit-Gravity

2) Artificial Gravity

3) Tractor Beam/Repulsor Beam

4) Inertial Stablizer

5) FTL (Warp, Hyperspace, Slipspace, Dimentional Drive, etc...)

6) FTL Communications

NO, Star Trek uses "Inertial Dampener" to compensate inertia effect when using impulse engines or the crew would end up in the bulkhead. The inertial dampener is subspace bubble created around a starship, weaker version of warp field when traveling at warp. Though the "Inertial Stablizer" is adapted from Star Trek, it's not a copy.
BTW, I'm a big fan of Star Trek.

FTL: Hyperspace is ok.
FTL Comm: Hypertransmission.

You can start in the main page of WoW. You can try reading parts of the story there as well, getting yourself oriented to the universe of WoW.

I think I approve. Please feel free to put in the detail.

PS: Use the Edit option to edit your first post would be a good idea to make your faction info easier to read.

Okay my extra faction information is almost complete, all that remains is that the ranking system needs to be redone to something more original

EDIT: I'm also posting an introduction to my faction

I am letting you all know this, I am working at my church's Greek festival Thursday night, all day Friday and Saturday, then I'm flying down to Virginia on Sunday for surgery and I won't be returning for at least a week and then I'll be out of it for at least another week, my sincere apologies to everyone for not being able to do anything for such a long time.

If you want to know what I'm having surgery for then I will explain, I have a severe case of Pectus Excavatum (google it) and it has lead me having severe exercise intolerance, that's all I have for you ATM.
