IIRC, Minotaurs aren't a magically gifted race.

Gotta check the race guide on that one, though.

Yeah, Minotaur =/= magic. Ie they aren't very affected by it and don't really use it. To my mind, anyway, they do resemble the ones in the Narnia films. Aaaand I don't think that the platemail is really necessary, by the way.

Seeing as I've more or less defined the Minotaur culture (Minotaur is already plural, mind :D), I'd appreciate it if you'd forward all questions concerning them to me :p thanks for being the other member to finally choose one, though :p

Hope this isn't stepping too far out of my bounds, Vort

I'm afraid the melded magic wouldn't work. Minotaur have an incredibly high natural resistance to magic, which nobody can explain. It's just the way things are. It's not that melding them would be impossible, just that the Minotaur's body would reject the meld and probably kill itself. Think of it like an organ transplant with the wrong blood type. Secondly, the history of the Minotaur has been defined here and there, and they have never been at war with humans. They have fought alongside humans once and were so ferocious and terrifying that it was deemed a good idea never to anger them. Besides which, they generally keep to themselves, living out on the wild lands of the east where humans are at best uncomfortable. (It is because of the Minotaur joining the war that the Furya were exiled to their little peninsula in the far south, otherwise they would probably own Arsencia by now.)

Also note this topic: Minotaur grow to maturity at age 8, and live to approximately 40. Your Cassius ought to be a fairly mature and experienced chap by this stage in his life.

Furthermore, Minotaur are strong, but they couldn't carry a two-handed axe and a two-handed sword. It would be one or the other, and more likely the axe. An axe can provide shelter as well as protection, whereas a sword can only serve you in combat. Minotaur are practical beings.

Sorry to seem quite so restrictive, but there's plenty of scope for development, originality and all sorts within those guidelines.

Yeah, i'd say a minotaurs natural resistance to magic works both for and against them in the sense that harmful magic is less potent to them, but on the other side of this helpful magic would also have this resistance to face up against.

Also the concept behind the minotaur is that they aren't magic users. They get their physical strength and prowess as a trade off for their lack of magic, wouldn't exactly be fair if they got both :)

@vort: really they wouldn't be able to use both a two handed sword and two handed axe?
i actually picture that quite easily, even fitting quite nicely. A two handed sword for a human would be about equivalent to a one handed sword, or shortsword/dagger to a minotaur wouldn't it?
so having a two handed sword and two handed axe would be the same as a human having a normal sword(or short sword/dagger) and normal axe(or hatchet).

I think it's not that he couldn't carry it, there just wouldn't be much point having both. Obviously if it's two-handed you have to use both hands to wield the thing so you can only ever use one at once and as Vort said the axe is just more useful, so chances are he'd be using that near all the time.

Two-handed for a human is different to two-handed for a Minotaur. I assumed he meant two-handed for a Minotaur, and based my response around that.

The Paladins are an exception to every rule. They just want to kill pretty much everything non-human.

All the more reason to have an extraordinarily badass party of vagabonds completely destroy the Paladins and murder their leader.

What does that have to do with his weapons? And tbh most Minotaur are pretty 'raged up' most of the time anyway :p

Also, the plate and chain armour isn't really necessary. Minotaur are plenty resilient without it. And if you'd rather him wield a sword over an axe, do it. Yours seems more combat-oriented rather than survival ;)

the stuff about hunting the men was because someone said that Minotaurs don't fight humans, so I was showing why he hunts humans, but only the ones that killed his friends

And yes he is more combat-oriented

EDIT: changed the axe to one-handed

Don't you guys go trying to beat Mike at Minotaur lore. He will own you so bad you'll wish a Minotaur had gored you up the arse instead.

That's a vivid image. There really aren't many things I can think of besides squid jigs that would be worse going up your ass than a minotaur horn.

Um....asides from being disturbing, highly off-topic here :p
Vort you should probably go ahead and lay out what you want changed to make this character approved now.
