Hey everyone, we are looking for a part-time coder to work specifically on new particle effects for the mod. You would be working with me to create a large number of special effects for upgrades, spellbook powers and hero powers. It's not a difficult job, but it is a demanding one in terms of time (effects are finnecky), which is why I'm looking for someone to help me (there are a lot of things that I still need to do). If I can find someone, it'll greatly increase the speed at which the mod gets finished. The person we're looking for should probably:
  • Understand the basics of FXLists and FXParticleSystems
  • Preferably understand the advanced bits of FXLists and FXParticleSystems (:umad:)
  • Be creative: a lot of effects are needed, and often I can't provide a description of what precisely we want
  • Be willing to work hard to maintain the visual quality of the mod (I can't stress this one enough)
  • To that end, do not reuse blademaster 100 times (or even once).
  • Be willing to work under a mod leader who is really picky at times
PM me or post here if you're interested. If you have a sample of some particle or general effects work you've done, so much the better :p. If you have absolutely no experience but for some reason really want to help, and are a fast learner, you might still do, so don't be afraid of applying. This coding position still requires a large commitment though, so please only apply if you're willing to see this through to the end.

I am a person a that fits your second last description. I have no experience. I really want to help. And I learn fast. I have tons of free time this month approximately (when I wake up is usually 8-10) 8-2:00 maybe later. If it takes longer than I cant help I will start to go to high school and I cant get any B's (paresnts great idea) at all. (All the times are Western time).

Meh, I'm willing to learn. ;)
And I have a lot of time to learn, so times not a prob. But commitment, I'm personally afraid of it because I have trouble with it, but if my curse is real, I need to pay RA back. :umad: :p

This position is now open again, as the previous person didn't actually do anything.

Anyone with some experience of coding and fx - please! Nertea is doing a huge amount of work coding this, if someone can help with this task, the mod will be out sooner.

Wait you need coding and FX coding? And if yes whats the FX and coding thats needed to be done? Cause i could help out with both and i do have work that I've done before and some mods that I've helped like MME for example.

You'll just be coding FX.

Here's a snippet from the requiredfx text file that Nertea has. You'll have a long list of powers that need fx.

All the code is located in fxlist.ini and fxparticlesystem.ini.
Feel free to add additional systems, and contact me if you need a new particle texture for an ability.

For MME i coded in heroes powers, a few buildings like 1 or 2, and i helped make the bases. Though i can do alot more like code in heroes, units, ect, i consider my self a intermediate coder and i learn fast too. I have done fx for both ini and map.ini.

I have done some FX for my mod and a map i made that has map.ini and lots of custom powers.

Well heres proof that i can do FX and there not the best just a few changes here and there but i can make more creative ones if asked to. Note these are all done with Map.ini but i can also do ini, but i do have some from my mod that if you want to see i can post.
