How are things in the modding world?

Whats up guys it's Danny. I stoped posting for god knows how long but I finally decided to once again try to pursue modding. So naturally this was the first places I turned. It's weird getting back into things. I checked my profile and was suprised, and a little honored, to find that stevocarty had somehow looked at my page. I got worlds of respect for the guy. Which brings me to my first question. How are things going with the blood angles, dark angels, and thousand sons mods. Secondly, I'm determinded to get in on this modding thing so if anyone knows of any projects that need help let me know what needs to be done. I'm not sure what I want to do so tell me what needs to be done and I'll try to learn and help.

Ah there is tons of DoW1 mods coming. Where to begin?

Chaos-based chapter mods:
Iron Warriors
DeathGuard (Nurgle)
Emperors Children (Slaanesh)
Thousand Sons (Tzeentch)
World Eaters (Khorne)

Space Marine-based chapter mods:
Legion of the Damned
13th Company (fringe chapter based off of Space Wolves)
Dark Angels
UltraMarines (still needs more work to get close to beta)
Black Templars

Eldar-based mod:
Craftworld (has all 5 main Craftworlds in this insane 5-branch project).
Harlequins

Imperial Guard:
His Righteous Mod

Ready to ship:
Steel Legions for Soulstorm
Inquisition: Daemonhunt for Soulstorm

Not so ready since originally team waffling on releasing it:
WitchHunters

So yeah there is lots going on. :rolleyes:

Does that mean the blood angels mod is done? Are the other mods you listed in advanced stages of development? Also what kinds of skills do those mod teams require? Just let me know cause I'm eager to help even if I am a little new to all this.

BA is not done yet -- thats Delta, Shins, and Stevo's baby. We'll pretty much have all remaining SM and even CSM branch mods ready in 3-4 months. Half are actually in good beta standing with alot of advanced stuff packed into em. Will be opening beta for them in good time. Of those listed.. The overall progress (includes 3d, UCS, AI, code, icons, UI, voices/sounds, etc):

Chaos-based chapter mods:
Iron Warriors -- 80% done (adv. beta is ready)
DeathGuard (Nurgle) -- 80% done (adv. beta is ready)
Emperors Children (Slaanesh) -- 60% done (intermediate beta is ready)
Thousand Sons (Tzeentch) -- 80% done (adv. beta is ready)
World Eaters (Khorne) -- 80% done (intermediate beta is ready)

Space Marine-based chapter mods:
Legion of the Damned -- 90% done (adv. beta is ready)
13th Company (fringe chapter based off of Space Wolves) -- 80% done (adv. beta is within a week of being ready)
Dark Angels -- 80% done (adv. beta is ready)
UltraMarines (still needs more work to get close to beta) -- 50% done, working on code, UI, balancing, AI.
Black Templars -- 75% done (adv. beta is within a month ready as its a certified port from FoK with Meloo's blessing)

Eldar-based mod:
Craftworld (has all 5 main Craftworlds in this insane 5-branch project) -- 50% done.. mostly code and icons + voices. Minor 3d to do.
Harlequins -- 95% done. Just voices and some lingering 3d.

Imperial Guard:
His Righteous Mod - 80% done. Getting buildings ingame, some texturing of tanks/vehicles.

But all the above come or will come with pro-level installers and look/play VERY polished + all have advanced AI. :xd:

Hey thud any news on the AS witchunters mod?

I've been following Friedric on deviantart for some time. He's said that he'll reveal the backstory and possibly the reason why the team stopped on the mod but the story's coming in a snail's pace. He reveals the story and fluff of a single unit at a time every month or two.

No news to report. However, assets are secured so nothing has ever been lost... thankfully. It would have been an absolutely bloody crime against the DoW1 community to see such beyond Relic-quality work gone forever.

Yeah Freid calls the shots on WH_AS now.. KRMZ is long gone as he doesn't mod anymore. I already long since know the story on the regrettably circumstances re: WH_AS during late '07 into '08. Again, all I can say is: all is not lost.
