We may say your signature is too big and tell you to resize it. Maybe you didn't know the limit rule... but I'm starting up a signature resizing service for your convenience and so you can't complain about it. If me or someone else warns you about your signature and you don't know how to resize it / don't want to ruin the quality, just ask this department. We'll just make it the normal limit or whatever you request and without ruining the quality. WE DON'T CUSTOMIZE THEM. Even if we didn't warn you about it, you can ask before it's too late. We will find you. I'll head up the service for now, but I may just let someone else kind enough to give their time to run it. Not an actual staff position...


Staff & Admins: If you do warn people on the limit, ya' should suggest the SSD to them if they complain.

1. If you're going to tell people it's against the rules to have a large signature, I suggest putting it in the Board Rules, so that people don't say "well wh3re are teh r00lz aga1zt it??!!11!'"

2. If you're limiting people to 200 px, you're over the limit. Hypocrite.

3. 200 px is fairly small...

4. All I have to do to be safely under the limit is take out the words at the bottom, so I don't wanna hear jack about how I call you out and I'm not under anyways

Seriously, this is pointless, no one goes over the top anyway and if they do, I'm sure they'll know about it.

Maybe you should refrain from calling it a "Department" because that's kind of reserved for the real departments.
There are a lot of people who have signatures that stretch longer than the content of their posts possibly could, which is far beyond the point of a signature. It should be a small addition, not the main component.

Btw, it is in the rules now.

I know it seems really pointless, but last time I was staff, people actually said they didn't know how to reduce signature sizes, so now they can't give an excuse. And I hate being mean and removing them by hand. But guess it's more of a service than a department, so noted Sith.

And my sig is perfectly 200 pix's high Copa. Knew someone would try and test me on that one, so I actually checked to see if I did make it in the limit when I made this. Would just be silly.

Oh, I changed sigs Copa. Almost had me. But I say if it's just like 9 pixels over, we shouldn't get too fussy about it. 10 pixels over is another story.

Sorry Athos, the limit doesn't see your signature size in pixels, the limit is the amount of individual characters in the text you made your signature of. We should really change that limit because I had that problem once with a small sig.

Why does 21 pixels matter? I think it's a good sized signature.

Well... it's the rules. We can be lenient, but to a degree. But like you said, 21 pix's are nothing. Easy resize. And my signature shop has nothing to do with this Mirk. Asking here is the right place.

Dunno who told you that, but it's the entire height that counts. Seems pretty logical to me. We don't want people to fill up a whole page with text

Yes, we should enlarge that limit. The system is too dumb, we should just allow anything initially and enforce the rules manually.

Go for it; we always fill out signatures with tons of links in our pictures anyway.

And the word thing... so we do count words as pixels? Forget who told me otherwise, but I started to assume we just didn't want big pictures, being lenient on how big the sig is in a whole. I have a few people I need to confront now.

If all the sig bars are the same size, then it should be around 76x high, excluding your text. With the text, I'll guess 103x.
