I agree. 'Fail' should not be used as a noun. That is one of the reasons I hate the internet. Just as well there are so many reasons to love it too.

Why not 250? It'd be more convenient, and 200 is a little small.
Or, even better, have it be like it used to: if someone comments on someone's sig as too big, it gets resized or deleted.

Actually that was never the rule, we just didn't enforce the rules as were. 200 pixels high is the limit:

Please keep your avatars and signatures to a reasonable size (approx. 200 pixels in height for signatures)

It should be a small addition, not the main component. But guess it's more of a service than a department, so noted Sith.But I say if it's just like 9 pixels over, we shouldn't get too fussy about it.
