Well let me have another go at this:

Norway

Allegience: Allied
Specialty: Weather Immunity - Natural weather hardening added to cold weather training grants Norweigian troops 5% speed and range
Specific Unit: Norweigian Ranger - Nature hardened and specially trained, Norweigian Rangers sacrifice the amphibious nature of the Seals for more damage vs vehicles and the ability to deploy Blizzard Tank esque ice beam rifles.
Background: With the thread of Soviet northern sub attacks, the Allies conscripted the Norweigian armed forces into their alliance. Their special weather training makes them perfect for deep penetration special operations.


First of all let me say that this is my first post ever in this forum. I stumbeled over it while looking for RA2 and YR mods since I just reinstalled it.
Out of all the ones I tried, three of them stuck with me. Eagle Red, MooMans Rules and Mental Omega (which I hold highest)
So if you're planning a new one, allow me to squeal with joy like a preteen schoolgirl at a backstreet boys concert.

Now, to the topic of adding Norway to your list over fighting nations.
Sounds nice, but I would change it a little bit.
Norway also has a strong naval force. Needed due to the fact that the ENTIRE western part of Norway borders to the north sea.
This is why I think, in addiotion to the Norwegian Ranger, we should have one additios to naval units.
Perhaps something in the lines of an MTB. And perhaps even a defensive structure for water to sin those pesky german, err, RUSSIAN ships invading our fjords:P

Another thing to consider if you add a Norwegian side (which I would gladly pleasure you in unspeakable ways for if you did) is the fact that Norway in general is not an attacking nation during war.
During WWII the Norwegian resistance was wiped out within a short timespan and we used saboteur tactics in stead. Sabotage is also one of the main things norwegian special forces are trained in to this day.

So here is MY suggestion for "Team Norway"
Norway
Allegience: Allied (duuuh ;) )
Speciality: All infantry units, with the exceptions of dogs and engineers, are cloaked until opening fire. (this will be in line with the norwegian ambus and hit-and-run tactics)
Spesific Unit: The allready mentioned Norwegian Ranger. But I would love to see it called Norwegian Hunter or just flat out "Jeger" (norwegian word for hunter, also connected to this: http://en.wikipedia....s_Jegerkommando )
Also I like my suggestion of a small boost to naval units and the making of a special MTB unit. The MTB will mostly be a submarine-hunter. It should be fast and have a higher rof then the destroyer and can compensate this by having less armor then the Destroyer.
Some sort of naval defence structure would be awesome, but I'm not gonna beg you for it :)

Background: Norway shares border with the soviets in the far north and this border is beeing watched diligently.
Not long ago the Norwegians uncovered vast amounts of oil in the north sea and started pumping it up, vastly boosting the countries economy while at the same time strengthening Norways postition in the world.
Fearing that the scourge of communism would soon flood over the border in an attempt to take over the land and the vast oilreserves, the Norwegians called to the Allied nations in hope of a mutual agreement concerninc economy and protection from the soviets.

Kinda long for a "first post ever" but I would LOVE to see Norway added to a mod like this :xcahik_:

Jeger = Hunter in Norweigian, just a little lol fyi, Jaeger = Hunter in German. Well, you could loose the e and put a umlout over the a, but I'm too lazy to do that right now.

As for a boat, the beta testers (including me) and Speeder have a little remodelling of country specialties that might fit this in.

Well, norwegian and german are pretty close on the map over languages in northern europe :sad:

As for the boat; cool. Any chance of getting a small sneak peek? :thumbsupsmiley:

Hi guys, mhmm been away form this game for too many years, but love the mod :grin:

Hmmm i would like to see :

1. Afghanistan
Special Unit: Guerilla
Special Tactic: Infantry Costs -25%
Veteran Units: Sniper, Navy SEAL, Enforcer
2. Allegiance: Allies - Tribes men have decided to fight along side the allies as the lessor of three evils to once again repel the soviet enemy and the new invader Yuri!

Unique Unit: Guerilla - Equipped with their Ak-47's and supplied by their allies with claymore mines, they are great against infantry and can plant roadside bombs anywhere on the ground to stop tank rushes in their tracks.

Cost: $150
Prerequisite: Allied Barracks
Weapon: Ak-47, Claymore Mine
Armor: None
Purpose: Anti Infantry, Sabotage

Sounds like my Vietnam suggestion early in this thread, basically forced to be on the Allies side, though in my country. France and Vietnam strike a deal, to be granted freedom if they join on the Allies side.

For the record I'll just say ROF bonus is overpowered because it can't be defined to just units (maybe Ares will allow it)

i.e. it would be

[XCountry]
ROF=.65

Which would ruin gameplay as all the infantry, vehicles, naval vessels, airborne hovers e.g. helicopters and defences would be firing 35% faster.

Guerilla idea just sounds like a conscript + ivan and mines by infantry are not possible.

They are part of the alliance
Due to the fact that they are near the iron curtain of communism, they rely on heavy assault. A few unique units are the vanguard GI. This is the same as a regular GI, except when they deploy, they have a metal wall meaning they cannot be crushed. They also have the assault nighthawk, it brings back it's original machine gun, and also allows for the infantry to fire out.
Special ties include the fact that units are built 20 percent faster due to the fact that they need to pump out forces quickly. However, agent tanya costs 200 more credits than the original due to italy's isolation. However, battle forts are cheaper and are armed with more armor than before. And it is a veteran. Other veteran units are gaurdian GI, Vanguard GI, and Grizzly tank.

I few questions:
  • What is a Cryo Commando? (Stolen tech allied-allied)
  • Is yuri prime coming back?
  • What is an enhanced? (Stolen tech Yuri-soviet)
  • What is a smart ivan? (Stolen tech soviet-yuri)
  • Is the slave miner still available?
  • Will you repair the auto deploy used by the GI's for AI?
  • What game modes are going out?
  • What game modes are going in?
  • Will epsilon and the soviets receive gates? Like the armory list on the website says so?

Ad6. If it's broken then yes.
Ad9. Yes.

As for rest, once the website is updated you will be able to read all info about new additions etc.

While It's been a while since anything great has posted and you really haven't included any suggested countries I was working on a plan for a little private mod of mine and thought you may be interested in the Yuri command structure I'm planning:

Overwatch - Command and control, basically like Headquarters.

Dominion - Psychic based, responsible for placing Psychic Beacons and Dominators.

Hydra - Elite forces, like Psicorps mixed with Chaos Force. Responsible for sabotage and stealing technology.

Genesis - Yuri's scientific team, they're responsible for developing new technologies.

Tsunami - The navy of Yuri's forces, they distrupt enemy operations in the Pacific.

Oculus - Intelligence network, Oculus has an extensive spy network and plenty of scouting technology.

Scythe - The Yuri Mining Company, Scythe is responsible for supplying Yuri's army, like Scorpion Cell.

@Crimson Dynamo: Speeder is currently putting MO on hold due to technical reasons relating to his PC. He made a news post about it.

@Darkstorm: Remember, MO's goal is to create a more complete YR. Not a massive TC or overhaul of Yuri's Army. Those aren't too terribly bad names, though.

Okay since the soviets have an Arab country which is Iraq there is another country in the middle east who is with the allies

1-Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
2-Allies
3-Desert Shield tank : This tank is fast and can pack a punch against light armor and have a decent defense can garrison 1 soldier and can fire from the tank it's good on rough terrains especially wastelands
Although it can survive from light armor it's weak against buildings and infantry
4- Rapid deployment : all armor and buildings cost 10% less

And i think you should put something like Oil well : the country get's extra 50% from oil derrick since Saudi Arabia fame's in oil business.

1) Australia

3) Desert Wolf Battle Tank (Shortened to Desert Wolf/Wolf Tank): A fast hit and run tank, the Desert Wolf sacrafices armour for speed. It's machine guns can easily rip through infantry squads and it's main cannon enables it to win against most medium tech tanks when there's a 2/3:1 advantage. (Based on the concept of a wolf, as you can see. Fast, Anti-Infantry, but vulnerable alone)
4) Free Market: 1.1/1.25x Income mult (reflects Australia's high GDP)

After Yuri's forces in Australia were thwarted by the Allies (I'm aware that doesn't occur in the soviet campaign, but who says it doesn't still happen?) and the clonning base destroyed, the Australians joined the allied cause in fighting Yuri as repayment.

Ok, this is my 1st post so here we go...


1) Country Name: Argentina
2) Allegiance: Allied
3) Special Unit - Toro Assault Vehicle (T.A.V): Good vs Infantry & Buildings. Weak Against Armor. The T.A.V is a fast, light armored vehicle that uses a dual Heat Cannon (Similar to the one that uses the Mirage Tank) to eliminate infantry and destroy buildings pretty quick, however, this weapon deals almost no damage to armored targets.
4) Country Speciality - Risky Mechanics : Vehicles +5% Dmg , + 10% Speed , -5% Cost , -15% Armor.
5) Veteran Units : Guardian G.I, I.F.V, Mirage Tank.


I posted this country because there is no other South America Country in the Mod. And Since one of Epsilon´s Division is on Artartica, The Argentinians are the best to fight them (because they are pretty close compared to other countries).
