Hi everyone I was wondering how to install the Edain Mod. I know that it is in German. I have gotten as far as downloading all the files and the patch switcher by Turin Turumbar. The problem is, is that when I run it it gives me an error about Ini not being able to open Data\Ini\Default\SubsystemLegendExpansion1.ini.. I didnt want to mess with it but I have no idea what to do with it.
Please Help

When I press teh third button on the start up thing. It works perfectly but then it just messes up and then it crashes with no error.

I took out teh asset file and ini file and it gives me the same error as in teh first post.

Maybe you got a different mod in the place where the Edain files are?

Hey drogoth,

First of all thanks for your patience so far. ^^
Second, I unfortunately don't exactly know how to solve your problem.

The thing is: I don't use the installer/starter. I'm shifting the big-files and asset-file "manually". So I don't know how to use the starter either. ^^'

I can only suggest you to try the raw data ("rohdaten"). First of all, uninstall everything you installed with the installer. Then, simply download the zipped files, unzip them, drag the big-files in your RotWk-directory, copy the asset-file in your BfMe2-directory, start the game.
Do this with the downloads: "Edain Mod v3.1 Komplettversion Rohdaten", then "Edain Mod v3.1.1 Rohdaten".

I guess you have an English Installation of BfMe?
Then you also need to download the "englishpatch201.big" and paste it in the lang folder in your RotWk-directory. It won't change the language, but there won't be any missings in the descriptions.
(save your original englishpatch201.big, so that you can replace it later again)

If you want to uninstall the mod later, simply remove the Edain-bigs from your RotWk-directory.

That's all I can do at the moment. I'll try to get the attention of an starter-expert for this topic. ^^

Oi...
I guess there're some leftovers from the Installer...

I'll try to contact Turin and ask him for advice.

So, I asked Turin Turambar and he said that this kind of problem appears when you haven't patched your RotWk to version 2.01 .
It seems like you have to redo a few things drogoth. ^^

Turin suggested to uninstall RotWk. After that delete the RotWk-Folder manually, so there won't be any leftovers.
Then install RotWk again, patch it to Version 2.01, also install .net framework 3.5 (It's needed for the Installer/switcher and can be found via google). Thereafter use the Mod-Installer and get the switcher as well (the same way you've done it before), search for Mod-updates with the switcher (The button which sais "Nach Updates suchen") and install them as well.

Now everything should be fine. If you click on the "Edain Mod starten"-button, the Mod should be launched.
The "Aufstieg des Hexenkönigs starten"-button is for the normal RotWk.

Aye. :shiftee2:
I send a detailed instruction to you in a pm. ^^

In case that there will be again a problem of understanding within the installer or the switcher, maybe the answer can be found faster by using dictionaries, like http://www.leo.org/index_en.html for example. :p

Wow, that's weird. :p

Maybe there was an error while downloading. Try to download it again but from another source. Just copy ".net framework 3.5" into google and avoid the microsoft site. ^^

If it's still not working then, I guess you have to play without the switcher, sorry. Simply don't install it then and run the mod with the RotWk icon on your desktop.
