Paying for 1.5mbps, and usually get that but my routers a bit dodgy these days. Fortunately my ISP hosts their own Steam servers, so at least half my game downloads are at a solid 1.6 and don't mess with my low limits (30Gb/month)

Nowhere near what they advertise, but hey-ho...

Reposting as I have a new laptop. This has inbuilt wireless unlike my old one (and they are more reliable than card ones) and it's draft N so I think that's good. Only 2.5 hours before I took the first test so the time of day should affect the results.

If your internet is around 1mbps to 2mps your getting about 100-300kb download speed. If its 8mbps to 30mps its about 1mb to 4mb download speed if I'm right :p And if you wanna check your down speed in KBs search "speed test" in google and click on "speakeasy speedtest" and that shows it in KBS.

My internet connection was updated yesterday... without costs (except that I had to buy a new modem, because the old one couldn't understand the ADSL signal anymore) :p. It's damn good!

You have a great upload speed.

Btw, I've tested my connection with a different server and I've got slightly better results.

Well it is 50 miles closer. And if you loose connections with one / get a bad connection with one, you can just switch. That's handy. Hmm... if only there was a way to use two servers at once...

What good is upload speed gonna' do me? I get 100x's more than give. But I have to get at 1.52 MB/s... drats. Community internet stinks.

You work at Amsterdam? You some sort of Brothel monarchist, or do you sit in a Cafe' with internet writing your novel with the brightness turned all the way up?

Come on guys! Are you kidding?

Paris? There's hardly anyone civilized there to use the internet. No wonder it's shappy.

No, I don't work in Amsterdam, that's just the server it connects to to test the speed.

And if you loose connections with one / get a bad connection with one, you can just switch. That's handy. Hmm... if only there was a way to use two servers at once...

Banshee only switched the server to test the speed with, which has nothing to do with your actual internet.

But aren't the results your current upload / download speeds (being your actual internet) when connected to that server? Or are they the server itself?
