Mine has to be Pitfall or Pacman on the Atari 2600. Yeah, damn right, the Atari 2600.

What about the rest of you, youngn's? :thumbsupsmiley:

I believe the first video game I played was Mario Kart 64. I still take it out occasionally to play through some of the old courses... /nostalgia

Careful. This link is DANGEROUS. Do NOT click it. This one, however, is fine.

True. I did dabble in that at a friend's house. The first game I owned, however... :thumbsupsmiley:

The first game I played was Night Driver on Atari at my dads parents house. I played it some time in the early 90's (About 10 years after it first came out.) it still rocked my world.

I wasn't into gaming until that game came out in 1995. I spent the first half of the nineties watching Seinfeld like everyone else, I can't be blamed. But it was fun, although probably the most violent game of it's time... following Doom.

Dangerous Dave in the Haunted Mansion ... the DOS version. Must have been sometime in the very early nineties. :thumbsupsmiley:

Dangerous Dave is a 1988 computer game by John Romero. It was developed for the Apple II and DOS as an example game to accompany his article about his GraBASIC, an Applesoft BASIC add-on ...
The idea of Dangerous Dave came to John Romero under the influence of Super Mario. There are definitely similarities that are easily noticeable, such as the secret levels, the level design, the monsters, and the jumping.
Romero says that among all Dangerous Dave sequels Dangerous Dave in the Haunted Mansion is "the best Dave ever created". In 2008 Dangerous Dave in the Haunted Mansion was ported to cell phones.

... and btw, this was my first modding experience: editing all 8 levels, and that in HEX (a hell of a work, but fun! :crazed: )

Pacman, on the first pc my dad bought.
It has been reported that some victims of rape, during the act, would retreat into a fantasy world from which they could not WAKE UP. In this catatonic state, the victim lived in a world just like their normal one, except they weren't being raped. The only way that they realized they needed to WAKE UP was a note they found in their fantasy world. It would tell them about their condition, and tell them to WAKE UP. Even then, it would often take months until they were ready to discard their fantasy world and PLEASE WAKE UP

I actually can't remember what the first game i ever played was. But i do have memories of the old games i grew up with, like Doom, a demo of Heretic, Tib Sun, Diablo, and my N64 games.

Also i have memories of Gex the gekko and other oldies and stuff which are all quite awesome :shiftee2:

I can't recall specifically THE first game being too young to remember, but it was defiantly on the SEGA Genesis (I still own it) my favorite games ARE 'Toe jam and Earl' and 'Battle Toads'

the first ever kinda defined my life, it was "DOOM" on my intel 486dx, my first computer, I was 2 at the time (yes I had learnt to use a computer to play a game when it was about 1 week before my 3rd birthday) I blame it for de-sensitising me to violence in real life, and for my sense of humor that sometimes makes me collaspe from laughter from something that isnt really funny at all (like somebody dropping a pencilcase)

That ladybird game on the school computers. No idea what it was called, like a version of Pacman but with a ladybird, can't remember what it's called.
