Full song from Arjen's next album with text comments. I like the style, although I think it will be more powerful once we get the concept and the songs before it. But I do love the intro and the end of it.

Oh my... an unexpected leg of greatness came before me when I sampled this track from Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Another accomplishment in the bounds of gaming and music.

Yeah, I was hoping that soundtrack would be longer, but the parts there were of it were pretty cool. I do hope they make more of those games. I like cyberpunk/post-cyberpunk settings and kicking ass in them.

Yea, 80% of any soundtrack isn't going to get anyone's attention. They save the good bits for the real dramatic parts. It's what makes the dramatic parts extra special, I suppose.

Lets hope they earned enough money on that game to make more of them.

Good that there are some gamers with taste out there. Not a perfect game, bosses especially, but the story was nice and it brings up fun topics.

Anyway, some James Newton Howard music from the hunger games movie. JNH is a pretty good composer, this movie is not an exception there.

Some nice violin play in there... I liked the build, but the climax of the song left to a... decent tribal drum session. When you have your strings going crazy in the middle of your song that suddenly cease, you don't start with another build with only 20 seconds remaining. You pull out the big horns and dramatic string tugs. I kept cringing and shouting, "Do something epic already!" with ten seconds left on the clock, leaving a rather unsatisfied taste near the end. ... Wow, my first music review... ever. I need to do this more often.

You're thinking about two steps from hell, x-ray dog and those trailer-music people. They are okay, but I like that song better just because it doesn't go straight into that form.

Anyway, another hunger games song. Not much of a spoiler in the name of it, but its sort of a spoiler. It is also in one of the more emotive parts of the film, where you get to see some cracks in the facade of many things.

The good part is around 2.45, but the beginning is nice for the mood.

Just some 8-bitty things here with a bit of a dramatic flair to them. Fits my ears at least

First heard in assassins creed 3 trailers, the former web-designer gone director/musician have made some nice music and videos.
It seems he's a prodigy in whatever field he focuses on. Do like the mood he has in the music here, "Run boy run" reminds me a bit about Moby among other things.

The awesome music topic fell to the second page, not good :p

Anyway, Metal time this time of year: Discovered Five Finger Death Punch a month or so back. Their two last albums are pretty good, and I like their noisy but melodic/epic style.

Here we have the song I first thought "huh, this isn't half bad", so here we go(even though the music video is a bit meh)

Here we have one from their last album American Capitalist. Not the sort of message you expect in a metal music video(or is it? :p):

Edit:
And just to top the evening off: A song for all the nerds out there :p

The epic written for the narrator for the recent awesome puzzle game, Deponia. The song was originality written in German, but it's confusing enough in English. Regardless, it's awesome.

It makes perfect sense in German, what are you talking about? And I will assume that this style is what you like Pasy?

As someone who speaks 120 words in German, I'm an expert in all things nonsensical in foreign languages.

Meh, I don't have much care for music. It's primitive. But I have the ability to recognize creativity and perspectives from song as an outsider to the world or rhythm. And I also believe I have a keen ability to create some really good music set to the right settings. I specifically had to study music to understand what people like and how they feel to certain paced frequencies, and I think I have a really rad understanding. Now if only this music stuff was easy to make...

BUT, if I had a choice, I would prefer my personality to be reflected by the gothic music of old, with the grand organ and choirs in harmony. There isn't enough of that sort of stuff... but 20th century American Masterpeice Records is a second good option:

Daffer.

My favourite love song at the moment.

Yes it does sound like a miniature musicmaker. It's Indie. And I like Indie.

Owl City is in NO WAY shape or form indie anymore. There is a certain point when a group, gaming, filming or music... leaves the indie category. I say its when they make a very successful product and bring them to a well known status. Owl City has been there since Fireflies.

This song is........ meh. I can compare it to The Killer's new album, Battle Born. The Killers have made phenomenal music, and I think its due to the fact it's got an old time twang to it mixed with dark emotional beats and lyrical themes. But people have claimed not to like their new album, and I can see why. It's all love songs. All of them. The dark emotional stuff that made them is completely lacking in it, and it backfired on them. This can go for The Saltwater Room as well. Owl City has had a plethora of love songs, like everyone else, and their lyrics and chords are all too familiar and outworn on mortal ears... and mine. The world is in dire demand for anything but love songs, and they probably don't even realize it. Dukie has posted some great songs on this forum and that's because most of his are, one, not love songs and, two, not well known groups. It's something different, something good, and it works. We need more songs like The Vast Glubs out there.

Ah, thank you for clearing the music genre up for me, it was confusing me.

What makes Owl City's love songs nice was the fact that it doesn't include sex, drugs and lust.

Yes. WE WANT VARIETY. Soon I won't feel the same level of air-fairy love but rather want something deeper, which doesn't include much music. Different things in our lives to make it interesting as we develop. But I decided to post my epic song. At least it was better than Dubstep. ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhhahahaaaa.

To be honest, I prefer dubstep to that song :p. It reminded me of pineapple thief just less polished.
