The new World of Warcraft Faction Change service is now live. As we mentioned previously, we've been in the process of developing a new service for World of Warcraft that will allow players to change their faction from Alliance to Horde or Horde to Alliance for a fee. After purchasing a Faction Change for a character, a player can choose any race of the opposite faction that is compatible with the character’s class. For more information on the Faction Change service, please read the FAQ, or visit the Faction Change page to get started.

Based on further community feedback, we have also decided to offer a race change service in the future. Players who choose to switch races will be able to change their race within their same faction and class. Additional details will be released at a future date.

Careful. This link is DANGEROUS. Do NOT click it. This one, however, is fine.

I had the meaning of life in my signature, but it exceeded the character limit.

Nice, now can I make a human on Al'akir, where I'm playing horde atm :p
It has been reported that some victims of rape, during the act, would retreat into a fantasy world from which they could not WAKE UP. In this catatonic state, the victim lived in a world just like their normal one, except they weren't being raped. The only way that they realized they needed to WAKE UP was a note they found in their fantasy world. It would tell them about their condition, and tell them to WAKE UP. Even then, it would often take months until they were ready to discard their fantasy world and PLEASE WAKE UP

:p

Never played wow, but that's a cool feature. I've enjoyed similar systems in other MMOs... Wish I could think of an example. :p

:O everything which was holy about this game is now moot!

For real though, I remember when I first started playing the big deal was "pick factions wisely 'cuz you don't get to change"... now this doesn't matter AT ALL.

Yeah, well I hate the stuff like that. I like games where I can just play and not worry about my choices as much. I mean, so that I can always go back and do it differently, or whatever.

I understand, to an extent. I've played other MMORPGs. Mostly free ones, so idk how they compare. But I understand. If it was too extreme it wouldn't be fun at all.

My ideal game wouldn't have "ideal builds" though. You would be able to be just as good as the other people without having to follow all the little rules. I wish someone would make a flexible, casual MMO for me. :p But that's not what most people want. Or at least, everyone who plays MMOs likes the way they are.

I hope you can understand me. I seem to be having trouble forming words today.
Greetings, community.

I understand ( think :p)... You should try LotRO. Flexible, casual and fun. It's more of a game you can log on and play for 30 minutes, then do something else, rather then a game like WoW where you're kind of forced to spend hours doing instances and raids.

I found out even game force player to do long raid or heroic like 1 hour or more it still fun. :p but if you don't like PVE i prefer battleground whice is unlimited fun(in my opinion)

Much better than grinding things such as doing daily for reputation..same and same again everyday. :p

Eh, i'm so digging this feature. It'll make me able to make my 74 BE DK on Terokkar (EU) into an ally character, and then transferring it to Defias Brotherhood, and grinding for Hierlooms for my other characters. Gonna be so win.

No way! I can't believe someone is changing to Alliance, they suck! :p Anyway, it does destroy the whole game tbh, MMO's are meant to be about decisions, you shouldn't be able to change tbh. But look at it from Blizzards point of view, their getting $30.00 every time someone changes, that's like someone buying the game, or 3 and half months subscription fee! It's win win for them!

Eh. I'm a horde player by heart. But my classmates plays Alliance -.-

And unfortunately, retail doesn't have crossfaction stuff like a private server i used to play on. (Everything was crossfaction, guilds, raids, you get the idea)

Well although it is good feature for some of players,I still don't like it..it totally destroy meaning of "RPG" whice it is players decisions to choose race, gender, class, faction and design how you character will look like. :p

but it got to say it is useful tools for some people who want to change faction without start from 1,but i think players should be pround of their character and if you character still low lv it not worth to change it. :p

LotRO sounds fun, but It's not worth it for me to pay for a RPG. I also do like PvE. I almost never to any PvP, so a non-multiplayer RPG would be almost as good for me. A game like Diablo might be good for me, if it's also somewhat casual.

I still enjoy Galidor Quest. :p

Sounds kinda cool, but I would never pay $30 for it. But the whole game's far to expensive for me anyway. I don't play enough for it to be worth it. I usually stick to one-time purchases.

Hey, does anyone know if this feature requires cataclysm? Or will it be available to all players? Not sure which would give Blizzard more money...

More money would be to make it available to all players, as everyone will by the new expansion anyway at some point in time. Plus if you really like PvE, I recommend GW, it has the best PvE for every MMO, the low level cap means you don't have to grind at all. You follow a storyline while doing different things, then farming and dungeons and things.

I'm mostly a PvE player but GW's pvp is so good, I've even started liking it now lol.

But back on topic, this new thing is rubbish and it's just destroyed the whole thing about Alliance vs Horde, you can choose whatever and it wouldn't make a difference, I thought the two factions was the best part about WoW.
