[Nighthawk]

Below is a list of every FTP account on the Guild server. Find your account username in that list, and watch it like a bird of prey. Dark Lord of the Sith is starting the process of converting these accounts over to the WHM system. This will result in your login details changing. Also, while your account is being moved over, do not try to log in to it. This causes nastiness on our end.

The list will be colour coded to show you the status of your accounts:

• No colour change: Your account has not been moved yet. It's still safe to log in to.
• Orange: Your account is being moved. Don't log in. If you do, we'll beat you with sticks.
• Blue: Your account has been moved, but you haven't been sent the new login details yet. If you try to log in now before we give you the details, you will be branded a twit... and possibly autobanned by the server.
• Green: You account has been moved and you've been sent the new login details. Stop watching this topic.
• Red: Further action is needed. DLotS will add an explanation as necessary here.

Clear enough? Good. Now, monitor your account details below. This list will be updated by DLotS as he starts moving accounts. This process will take longer than today, so be patient.

Umm, sorry for asking possibly a stupid question but why isn't my FTP on the list? Phantom.cncguild.net or whatever. Something to do with the fact that it was granted to me only few months ago?

Your account was created on the WHM system right from the start, along with OnlyWar 2. So you two don't need to be converted over.

Thought that could be something like this, however wanted to confirm. Thanks for your time.

Where do I upload stuff to now?
There's a www folder and a public_html folder which both have the contents of my site in them.

You can use either, www is just a symlink to public_html.
I think it's farily obvious that only what's in this folder is accessible from the web (thus public HTML). The rest can only be accessed through FTP.

Command Imperium does not need to be converted. The mod from Skywaters (or whatever name he is using now) was finished and abandoned a long time ago.

The account holds a website with downloads though, so I've converted it anyway. In that case we can just leave the account in Nighthawk's custody.

It's not a good idea to convert account from mods that were finished and abandoned, because it becomes hard to maintain their sites working, at least for me. If something happens like a mass deface or the network bar getting severily changed, like what happened before, I won't be able to fix these places. Also, please, do not convert strategic sites such as SDI, YR Argentina and the development sector for YR Argentina (which wasn't supposed to be public at all).

If the sites are abandoned, Karl will hold the passwords and can share them with you. Also, you should really get root access so you can also quickly ssh into the server and fix things no matter the account (saved my life a thousand times already).

Second, the conversion to WHM will exactly help to prevent such mass defacements because the directories can only be written to by the user (well, unless you gain control over apache, but then we're f***ed anyway).

And why not convert YRArg or SDI? Exactly in those cases it seems to make sense.

Basically: check this topic before you try to log in, as I update the first post as I work on the conversion. If your account is listed in orange or blue you must not log in.
