I noticed that the mod has nine Nazguls but only two Istaris, so I should say that I have proof that Saruman the White, Gandalf the Grey, Radagast the Brown, Alatar the Blue, and Pallando the Blue diserve to be all in the same mod, this applies to all Tolkien mods, including this one. I know that this mod is using primarily the movies, and secondarily the books, so my support is:

http://www.glyphweb..../w/wizards.html

So, this is the thing with the Wizards, considering this is the heroes forum, and I wanted to get this as a topic.

I don't see how this is proof. The page doesn't say anything about the other three fighting in the war of the ring. It actually says that Radagast had little direct part in the war.

I just don't understand.

Well the same argument applies with good'ol Tom bombadil. He has a presence in the books and he does help the hobbits out a bit, but he never actually fights in the war of the ring. That being said he should be removed then, but since he isnt going to be removed perhaps the remaining 3 istari could be snuck in as summonable heroes from the PP tree, this would give them a limited presence in the mod.

It's a little different with Tom, cause they have a lot of explanation of why he couldn't be involved. Also, he played a much bigger role than Radagast, and the Blue Wizards weren't even mentioned in the book, IIRC.

They said all this stuff about how tom didn't leave his territory, and wouldn't be suitable for keeping the ring, and whatnot. Truly, he should be removed before the other Istari. However, him being in the game already makes a difference, too.

radagast played a rather unnoticed role: he was the link between the peoples of middle-earth and the eagles, and he asked them to do help gandalf, spying middle-earth, and rescuing gandalf off the top of orthanc. also he lent crebain to saruman, not knowing his intentions. possibly a summon for elves (possible mount eagle ability, and call the herd)

as for the two blue istari, tolkien's own writings contradict themselves. one says that they failed and started magical cults, while another says that they arrived much earlier and had great success in making sure that the easterlings didn't all flock to sauron's banner. maybe both are true. possibly a summon for rhun, together (with coerce and dissent powers maybe)

That's true, but Radagast didn't fight in any battles afaik.

That part about the blue wizards doesn't say anything about the war of the ring, either. They probably didn't march in with the easterlings and actually fight for Sauron, so I don't think they are needed, unless Rhun is short on heroes.

They are short on heroes, but of course all they need are the Blue Wizards, who it's true that they did not march into anything, but it would still make sense to have them there.

For Radagast, he mostly just supplied the armies of Good in the North (Elven, Dwarven, Woodmen, Men of Dale) with nature-allies like Eagles.

Right... Elves have plenty of heroes, though, and he doesn't really fit with the Dwarves too well. *sigh* I'd love to see a northmen faction, with dale, beornings, radagast and the other men from up there. Not for SEE, though.
