I don't think they really care about that , long time ago Lotro really did what players needed in this game.

They made the same move with free to play for the US Servers OF Dungeons and Dragons Online , and as I heard they were a succes for it but I'm waiting to see the impact on the Europe players , my guess is that they won't be that happy , actually they never were that much in Lotro .

Val, I think your missing some good points too. There will be simply more players! I used to be a WoW player and I used to quest with random people quite often but in the first 15 levels of LotrO there was more or less nobody around and no I didn't use to play at stupid times

Also you need to remember that with more players may come more Auction House activity, despite it being limited think about the gold limit, more noobies and free players will have to sell and sell pretty darn cheap, that is if they don't want to pay for a gold cap removal.

It's a fine balance but I completely understand your concerns, this is one of, if not, the best community I've played with so far (in an MMO) and I don't want to see all these newbies ruin it.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Played on Evernight as well I second Vala's concerns though, but I guess we'll have to wait and see how far the pro's outweigh the cons. For me the community was the great thing about LotRO as well, although there were too few players on low-level, yes. In WoW I often teamed up with a random player I bumped into, do quests, instances, talk bullshit, etc. I actually find that part of the game more fun than the high-lvl raids later on... So perhaps the fact that there'll be an influx of new players won't be so bad after all.

Dunno about you guys, but I always found low-lvl players that I could do random shit even raids and even at high levels , actually all my gaming life I was a pug ( meaning I did everything with random guys i found on LFF channel ) .I was always for the fact - play with awesome 40.000 players then ruing your gaming life with other 4 million noobs -, that was one of the reasons (among others) that I choose to play lotro .

However , you might not know what limitation Turbine does , I have seen them , they don't look good .I played DDO , made also by Turbine and that went F2P on Americans servers ,and as a free to play member you only get kicks in the ass and you won't enjoy that game even a minute , at least on my part .95% of the game is limited , you can really finish the content you have in 1 week . Don;t get your head that up .

Here are a few things that will change , they are not all but , maybe enough .

Well I got the trial again. In the US servers. I am Arthineon a male elven hunter lvl 10. I think it is in Arkenstone. Will update later.

Well I started it up once, and I didn't really like it. But I will try once more today, just because if you log in between 7PM EDT to 10PM you enter to win some AMD graphics cards Well today starts the closed beta or something so I guess if you didn't get invited already to bad for you
