I am creating a new topic for the Goblin Faction because it's was getting busy in the other one, well sort of.

At the moment the Goblin Tech Tree is under review I will post it up once it's done.

I do have some news though.

I'm working on a new unit for Goblins.

Because of the sheer numbers of Goblins they are unruly unless without leadership.

The Goblins of Gunbadad and Middle-Earth are all in service of Sauron since he came to power.
Before that they were in the service of Morgoth.
In these early times some Orcs began Cults in worship of Morgoth.
Some of these Cults still exist and are more prevalent in the Goblins, especially in Moria and Gunbadad.
The worship of Morgoth becomes a part of daily life as such some Goblins are singled out for the role of leadership and worship.
These are called the Shamans.
The Shamans act as leaders and mediums for the Goblins their power is absolute over the Goblins.
The Goblins obey the Shamans without question.

The Shamans are support units that are used to power up goblins.
The Shamans strengthen the Goblins against enemies and their power controls them when normally they would flee.
The Shamans can also place Corruption Totems that corrupt the land around them weakening enemies and replenishing Goblin Hordes.

The Shamans aren't the only new thing for the Goblins.
They will gain some new heroes.
The first of which is Gurog.

Gurog the Bloodthirsty is a fearsome Goblin a ruthless killer that gains power from the very sight of blood.
Gurog has lower than average hero health but does considerably more damage.
His thirst for blood powers him and nearby allies.

Gurog the Bloodthirsty -
Bleeder - Dagger stab that causes a bleed effect
Bloodbath - Heals targeted units and buffs their attack
Blood Thirst - Gurgog deals a powerful blow at the cost of his own health.
Blood Rain - When critically damaged Gurog goes into a frenzy and gains a large attack boost

A while ago I cut the Great Goblin at least for now while I work out the kinks.

A follow up on that last topic.
I have created 2 more heroes to fill out the roster.
I'm hoping to create interesting and different heroes.
So here we goes.

Burolg
Level 3 - Cunning Stab
Level 5 - Dark Rush - Burolg gains a rapid speed boost last 1 second
Level 7 - Fell Swiftness - faster rate of attack, speed boost

Gharaga the High Shaman

Level 7 - Bramble Patch - summons a thick patch of Brambles that slows and damages enemies
Level 1 - Troop Replenish
Level 1 - Healing Muck - heals nearby allies
Level 5 - Defile - weakens targeted enemies making lose Armour
Level 10 - Salt the wounds - deals melee damage the target loses their Health Recovery for a long time.

Lugdush
Bit off the flank
Cower (Stealth cloak style)
Cannabalise (eat orc)
When he does he spawns a bloodbath type ability that heals allies

What's the difference between Troop Replenish and Healing Muck? And what kind of effect has Dark Rush when it only works 1 second?

Healing Muck is an Athelas type ability while Replenish auto replenishes hordes.
It's a very large speed buff basically you use it when you're running away to get to a place in an instant it's sort of Warp/Teleport.

This is an idea, just to flesh the faction out a bit, how about some unarmored goblins? or some tribal goblins with warpaint?

I have some news for Goblin fans :)
I have just finished the first of the Goblin model remakes.
To start it off I remade the Goblin Fighters.
They will now randomise between equipment just like the Morgul Uruks.
So far the Goblin Fighter randomises between

4 different weapons
4 different helms/hats
3 different back addons (like cloaks)
and 3 different shields
on top of this there are 7 different textures they will randomise between for the goblin model it's self
and 5 different shield textures.
This is only a start I plan to have more for them later.

I will be updating the Goblin Archers,Hunting Pack (Wolf riders) and Spearmen.

I am testing these out in game atm so I should have some screenies up sometime in the next couple days.

I've also decided that if I feel the Goblins are at a satisfactory point I will release them with this upcoming beta.

Could you do the same for most orcs from the other factions too?

Already underway.
Morgul (as of beta 0.3) have randomising equipment for the Morgul Uruks and I think Spears.
More will be done later.

I am removing the Gunbadad Guards from the Goblin faction and replacing them with a more useful horde.
The new horde are called the Deep Cavern Goblins.
The Deep Cavern Goblins are a tougher breed of Goblins surviving in the deepest caverns they are very hardy and have the best eyesight of any Goblins and Orcs.
Though they are weaker in the sun than other Orcs.
The Deep Cavern Goblins are known to exist in most Goblin realms but especially in Deep Moria and Misty Mountains.

These Goblins will have 10 to a horde cost around 300 and are stronger, faster and with better eyesight than the normal Goblin Warriors and are built from a Level 3 Goblin Den.
These guys are a sort of mid/late game supplement for the regular Goblins.

The Goblin faction is undergoing some changes firstly is it's name.
The Goblins are now known as The Deep.

Following the rule of thumb in LW rather than cover a race they will cover an area namely Moria and the Misty Mountains.
I am remaking their tech tree at the moment and is under discussion in the Wolf Den.

OK I've got a small piece of news for The Deep.

The Deep have a new spell "Swarm".
Swarm is a passive power that permanently increases the run speed of Goblins (+30%) and improves the Goblin Fighter's base damage slightly and improves their
anti structure damage.
This spell replaces Fuel the Fires and is on the other side of the Tech Tree from Drums of the Deep so for effective goblin play you'll need both.

Swarm is a very useful spell for The Deep and will play a large role in battles.
Once swarm has been purchased Goblin warriors become a force to be reckoned with if left unchecked they can tear down builings easily.

In other news Goblin Fighters have been remade again with improved equipment including some very cool looking blades.
The Goblin Cave has also been remodelled.
I should be posting some screenshots in the next couple days showcasing these changes.

Also I'm planning a return for a certain hero :D

He was just one of the Orcs with Ugluk from memory Tolkien never really mentioned who he was with.
Since in that party were Orcs from Isengard,Mordor and Misty Mountains I made the call that he should be with the Goblins.
This decision was helped by the fact Mordor has too many Orc heroes and Isengard have a full roster already.

The return is of a hero that had been removed for whatever reasons.
The old school followers will remember who

Oh yeah and Boldog like Dobby is dead.
