You don't know so much about mirkwood. In rivendell there are a lot more heroes to choose from. And mirwood is basically Lorien, they are so close. While Rivendell is far away and on it's own. It would be better imo to have rivendell and lorien as two teams. That way the hero count would be even and you would have more units to add and stuff. Because mirkwood is very unknown.
This is just a suggestion...the text above.

Exactly. Mirkwood is hard to get heroes for, as there really aren't any. :p Rivendell is a much wiser choice, unless someone else knows more Mirkwood heroes...

How about we made heroes for Mirkwood. Like heroes from CaH..but keep everything fit to lore and using new model. :p

Making up heroes just cuz there has to be heroes is not a good idea. Having mirkwood as a faction isn't a option and you all know it. And I nazgul won't like it. After everything else has been done, and if this mod isn't dead by that time. Maybe Rivendell could be a seperate faction like Rohan. And remember this is mainly a film mod, there was nothing about Mirkwood in the movie.

Yes, by far Rivendell and Lorien are the best. :shiftee2:

Actually, But Rivendell doesn't officialy have role in "War of the Ring" but Mirkwood and Lorien are. However although it books lore. Rivendell..still have a few role even in the movies.

But then think again why don't we keep Lorien as core faction. And Rivendell and Mirkwood as minifaction :shiftee2:

elves already have a lot of heroes... even if we were to add more, there's no need to get dead elves - elladan, elrohir, and cirdan were all alive during the war of the ring.

True, and two of those heroes are from Rivendell...so Rivendell is in. :shiftee2:

I find it kinda sad that you guys are making hero based decisions for this mod, which is making heroes less important.

However, Rhun and Harad have even fewer heroes for them from the lore (that is, nearly none.) I don't think Mirkwood is any different.
Greetings, community.

As Gondor and Rohan are planning to be split, Gondor seems to be lacking heroes...

Aside from Gandalf, Faramir, Boromir and Aragorn, I think the suggestions for Imrahil (as a heavy cavalry hero), Denethor (as a support/early-game hero) and possibly Beregond should be looked into.
Ignited into the world in a flash of lightning, it gleams faintly in the heart of its mother, wood. It begins as an ember, a mere wisp of heat and colour. Its chance of survival at this critical moment is minute, yet it fights on, against the unforgiving cold, against the depths of night and against its mortal enemy: rain.

Indeed, I do miss Prince Imrahil, he's the one Create a Hero character I always use for Men. He has such an important role in the books!

yeah. for gondor i would add pippin, beregond, denethor, and imrahil. spot on.
rohan would get merry, gamling, hama, and theodred as well.

at least that is my hope for 4.8

a cool hero for isengard (early game) would be bill ferny

Nice to see you've added beregond in gondor... but what about imrahil? Surely, he would have more priority as he actually appeared in the films... Still, the best case scenario would be to have them both as Gondor should at least have enough heroes to rival Rohan.

I agree, Beregond would be a lovely addition to Gondor, after all of all the good factions, Gondor has the fewest, and he'd be a decent hero to have for early game. Also Denethor would be an interesting hero as well, even thouguh he was depicted as completely irrational in the films, he was not a total madman in the books, not as a fighter but as a defence/experience oriented leader, escorted by a group of Citadel Guard.

Denethor:
*lvl 1) Leadership (Denethor grants 150% experience and 70% armour to nearby allies)
*lvl 3) Vision of the Palantir (A small targeted portion of the map is revealed)
*lvl 5) Summon Guards (summons two batallions of Citedel Guards)
*lvl 6) Steward of Gondor (targeted units in a large radius are granted high veterancy points)

Beregond
*lvl 1) Toggle Bow/Sword
*lvl 2) Leadership (Beregond grants 50% damage and armor to nearby allies)
*lvl 4) Servant of the Steward (Beregond grants Denethor an armour bonus and Pippin a Damage bonus)
*lvl 6) Guard of the Citadel (Beregond gains a damage bonus when fighting near Gondor structures)
I will remember Rhovanion Alliance, RIP .

Not only did Denethor do the complete opposite of providing a Leadership bonus in the films (he was so pessimistic and at one point told all the soldiers to abadone their posts), but he is a feeble warrior. BFME is about battles and fighting units.

Denethor can't hold his own in combat and the only use he has is perhaps the palantir power so his inclusion is kinda pointless.

Just my thoughts...

Understandable, but then again not all units are combat units, there's Drummer Trolls and Goblins for Mordor and Moria respectively. And if Denethor were in the mod, ideally he'd remain behind the ranks of your soldiers giving leadership, ordering his guards to join the fray, granting experience to them, or simply remaining behind at the castle with any defenders you leave with you.
