Been using it for two weeks I think... it's like, you know, okay, only above that, silly.

Anyway, if you were tweaking your vista, you shouldnt have any trouble figuring out the different menus in this one either. The biggest visual difference is the taskbar, which acts a bit different now. After that there's some shake possibilities which you can use to snap windows to one half of your screen or get rid of the stuff behind the window you're shaking.
don't ask me about technical differences, it works well on my pc after i updated the Bios. And i never had trouble with Vista on the pcs ive been using it on.

Does it beat XP?
It has been reported that some victims of rape, during the act, would retreat into a fantasy world from which they could not WAKE UP. In this catatonic state, the victim lived in a world just like their normal one, except they weren't being raped. The only way that they realized they needed to WAKE UP was a note they found in their fantasy world. It would tell them about their condition, and tell them to WAKE UP. Even then, it would often take months until they were ready to discard their fantasy world and PLEASE WAKE UP

I'd recommend Windows 7 over XP and Vista for sure. Having used Ubuntu for some months now though, I can say it's one of the best switches in technology I ever made

I've been using Windows 7 since about december last year on my netbook (MSI Wind), which I use on a daily basis, and certainly do not regret it.
Because netbooks are low tech, the improvement over Vista was quite noticable. (Yeah, Vista. It was my only option and worked fine with the proper settings and tweaks.)

Ubuntu is a great free alternative, as 2play says, but if Linux (Ubuntu) is not an option and/or Linux simply is not for you, you're almost automatically looking at Windows, and then Windows 7 certain is the best choice.

I'd be running it on my main pc already if I wasn't planning on replacing it.

Solinx, you could try Ubuntu on your netbook. Even if you're used to windows, the tasks that are generally performed on a netbook should be easy to do on Ubuntu.

I didn't know it was my job to entertain you with details you should of known already.

I've been using Windows 7 since about december last year on my netbook (MSI Wind)

Wait, what? Windows 7 wasn't even out then.

Windows 7 was released to manufacturing on July 22, 2009,[4] and general retail availability on October 22, 2009,

I'm running the RC (yes, still, I can't afford Pro x64 atm :crazed: ) and I'd reccomend Windows 7 to any Windows user. Another nice feature is that Winkey + 1-9 will open the first nine items pinned to your taskbar. (For thoes of you non-7 people, it's equivalent to the Quick Launch toolbar.)

The taskbar is top quality stuff.

And it seems my computer is running faster. The boot takes longer... but I can actually play ROTWK on medium graphics now.

I'd rather just keep the old windows taskbar if it's all the same to you. Takes a little work to get it back, but it's worth it.

Pretty much the same thing, except it's categorized now. There's also an option to convert it back into classic style, so no complaints in the task-bar area.
