Anyone play Guild Wars?

I do, and I'm currently in a playing period aswell.. it's a game where I play alot in periods, and not at all in others
I've got a W\R that's through Prophecies and EotN, and a P\W that's gotten far in Nightfall, a M\E and E\N that's gotten pretty far in Prophecies and currently playing on a Rt\E in Factions (that's barely started)
I've also got a Dervish and a Monk standing ready to be started on, but only reason I made them before I play them, is to secure their names
I've had the game from like release, but it was going really really slow until a classmate or two (two acctually) got it aswell, and then it got alot more fun, and I got going
That was before summer sometime, and if was after that I got the Complete Collection (with Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall and Eye of the North).. only had Prophecies before that.. (was only Guild Wars back then though )
So, anyone else out there playing this lovely, no-monthly-fee game?

There's some things that takes away some neat GW features, and you'll get all 4 campaigns for the price of 1 really.. It's worth it, given you like that kinda game
Also, there's no telling when GW2 comes out
Also, I know Celeglin used to play it.. atleast, played it.. He was a Mesmer, because he did like to stand out of the crowd

It was a lot more when it came out?

And you get all of the neat features that comes with Nightfall and Eye of the North (and Factions, although there's not really much new there besides the usuall.. skills, weapons, armor, ect..)
So, I would recommend buying the Complete Collection (and not the Trilogy)
And the price for the Complete Collection is about the same price Guild Wars itself was when it came out

about your style I guess
Still, I would recommend buying the complete collection.. If you like Prophecies (original Guild Wars) you'll like the rest

still, it's you call
I'm just trying to point out a possible mistake in case you really love the game and then want to buy the CC, instead of the original itself..
Still, it would still be cheaper to buy that first, and then the CC, compared to them all individual

I don't feel like adding additional campaigns is really something I want to do... I have so much to do with my life already.
Then I wouldn't start playing an MMO, if I were you Although GW technically isn't an MMO, but still...

I might get additional campaigns as released for GW2, but getting all of them for GW is a lot to dive into (why isn't the first one just enough?.) This brings me back to starting with GW2 when it comes out.
My point is, if the game without any expansions is good enough before any expansions are released, why can't it still be good enough now?
But I don't know what you mean by CC. When I look at it, there is no complete collection available. The last expansion has to be bought separately for $30 (whereas the bundle with the other ones is $50.) So as far as what you get for your money, the bundle (all expansions except the last,) seems like a good way to go. I'll think about that.
$50 is a lot of money at this time in my life. If I wait for each GW2 expansion, I will actually have some income in which case it will be much easier to afford. The additional $30 from just the original game might be worth it, but it's hard to know without playing the game first. I think I'll do the free trial and then see.
I think doing the free trial is a good move cause then I'll get a better idea of the game before buying anything, and I can decide how I want to proceed. Like for WoW, it was way more expensive than I would ever pay (don't like to do monthly fees much,) but I thought it must be a pretty good game to cost that much. After doing the free trial I was really disappointing. It's way overpriced for what it is. I've played free games just as fun, or more fun.

I also found this quote: "Guild Wars: The Complete Collection is a compilation released in Europe."
Since your talking in $ I'm guessing that's possibly out of the question then..
And dont' get me wrong, the first one is good enough in itself, of course.. It's just that if you like that, there's pretty much 99% chance you'll like the other ones aswell
That being said, there are acctually 3 separate games.. Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall.. Eye of the North is the only expansion, that require one of the others
If you decide to go for only one though, I would recommend Prophecies of course, then Nightfall... In Factions, your pretty much thrown into it without much of a learning process..
Getting all 3 games in one seems like the best offer for you though... you can always get the last one when it's fallen in price and your earning money
I did have only Prophecies from like a few days after release, untill before this summer sometime.. that's when I got the rest I got by quite fine..
And the no-monthly-fee this is really a thing to consider very well, as it's probably the best thing about GW
GW2 is also going to be like that, so if you want to wait, you can do that... of course, you can do whatever you want yourself, but still If you're low on money, and have a busy life, it might be better to wait anyways

Yeah, well, I'm trying to simplify my life. No more hardcore school to do, so that helps.
I like to stick tot he digital copies of the games. No Shipping, and you get it right away. It'd have to be a pretty good deal for me to grab something off ebay or amazon.
So Eye of the North acts as an expansion for any of the other games? That's very interesting.
The website has "Guildwars: Game of the Year edition" along with Factions and Nightfall. I'm guessing this is the same as prophecies.
So GW is $20, Factions and Nightfall are $30 each, or all three for $50. It's a nice deal, you get one of them free, basically.

Game of the Year edition is only Prophecies, I think, only, with a few extras
and yeah, it's a nice deal. To bad you don't have access to the even better deal though (all 4)
And yeah, Prophecies, Nightfall and Factions are 3 stand-alone games really.. Eye of the North is an expansion, and needs one of the other. That's nearer the prophecies on the map, so it's mostly an expansion for that, but it works as one for them all It's also described as the expansion to give us a brief intro/prologue to GW2

Anyways, I'd like to do the trial before jan 5th to get in on it. Anyone know how long the trial lasts? I don't see an amount of time on the website.
