Currently, isengard has a statue of sauron as their heroic statue. while this fits with mordor and rhun/harad (i like moria's drum idea as well), i think that the isengard statue should be of saruman. by the war of the ring, saruman was starting to run his own independent operation to try get the ring for himself, killling mordor spies in the region who were looking for the ring. his uruk-hai were devoted to fighting for saruman alone, so i think the heroic statue that inspires the troops is a statue of saruman.

If not Saruman, maybe the White Hand or something like that?

In the Two Towers book, in 'The Road to Isengard', there is a White Hand on the road pointing to Isengard that Gandalf, Aragorn, etc. pass. It's nail is bleeding. On the return journey, the Hand is broken and the nail is black. Perhaps a giant White Hand would be the most fitting as there is something like it in the books. (while there are no Isengard "statues" in the movies)

i'm fine with either a statue of saruman or a huge rock/pillar with a hand on it. i was just hoping to make it more unique than a statue of sauron (which fits very well for mordor and rhun/harad).

And here you are Rob Alexander's interpretation of the White Hand pointing to Isengard with bleeding nails. I like the crude Orcish feeling it has.

By the way, it's from the old Middle-earth collectible card game, by I.C.E., in case you wonder.

There IS a statue of Saruman in game, unused. But it has a very awkward base, which owuld need to be replaced. But the ststue itself is looking good. Before we create anything new, I'd like to use finished things as far as possible to savetime. Editing this model would be faster than doing new ones... And this has been planned ever since Beta III actually. I just ever found anyone wlling to edit the statue.

I can model and texture that crude looking statue with no effort if that's a problem.

Well, it's looking good here for finding modelers, Nazgul.

We're still on the case for finding unit modelers.

I'll drop the textured model, how about that? If you don't like it, we probably don't have much to PM about. :p

I can definetly model and texture game characters. However I never modelled anything for this engine in particular. Is there any 'Modelling for Battle of Middle Earth 101" reference site I can browse before I can make any assumptions? Things like skinning, model settings, limitations, material assignment and rigging setup are very particular to each game.
