I saw the new skin yesterday and liked it. Got on in school; it doesn't work. Got on using Google Chrome at school; doesn't work.

It worked fine for me yesterday through Google Chrome.

Ideas?

Firefox works great on the site, if you'd like to try a different browser.

I could find no errors on either the site or the skin in Chrome, except that strange cursor to the left of where it should be error that everyone else has noticed as well. What causes that I wonder?

That seems rather inconvenient, just don't use IE at all then

Firefox will take care of the cursor problem and the jumpy scrolling and such. :p I had the same problems until I changed over.

Hmmm... small bug, with my avatar and its transparency, a dotted line appears behind it. Looks like it's because the picture is a link and it's getting kinda underlined? Attached an image in case it's just me.

I really don't do requests and my Arnor Soldier is not fit for BFME. Don't ask me for either.

EDIT: Doesn't work in Google Chrome at school either... could it have something to do with the SurfControl?

In reply to the above: I've had this happen to me with Internet Explorer's security level set to "high". It worked on "medium".

Now, my issues with the skin:

It's unusable in IE8
Some part of the JavaScript makes the whole page so slow and unresponsive that it's a pain in the arse. Together with the fact that the cursor in input fields is off one character makes the skin absolutely worthless in IE8. That absolutely needs to be fixed.

The dotted links
All the links got a dotted bottom-border. Personally I don't think it's too pretty when used on all standard links, there's simply too many dots floating around that distract from the board's contents. Personal preference aside, some links shouldn't have borders or text-decoration at all, such as the link in the avatar, the pagination or some of the dropdown menus.

The skin in general
The new header and background of the main site are neat but that kind of contrasts with the style for the content of the old skin. We should look into adjusting the colours and gradients at some point, but I don't really have the time to do that now

Give me any clue to it's cause and I will fix it :p

You need consistency for people to recognize a link. Just an underline is too easily confused with regular <u>, just a colour is not obvious enough (what with all the background colours) and both looks ugly in many places. I will remove the lines where they're not supposed to be.

*necro*

- Image links (specifically a's which only contain an img and no text) now have no dotted line.
- You can now choose between two forum widths now (fixed, same as site, or stretchy) with the small arrows in the top left and top right corners of the header. It will remember your setting if your browser supports HTML5 localStorage.

The buttons aren't perfect yet, IMO. They contrast between the background and the text on them is rather low. I'm not sure what's best to change though because I like the background per se.

Currently I am using Firefox and it works great on every site and on every OS try this.

My friends are using Internet Explorer 8 and it is also working fine with every skin, But as per my advice go with Firefox really it is best.

Revora 09 skin is amazing, nice color contrast..
