The mighty Soviet bunker, its imposing presence suggest that this is no ordinary bunker, and that is certainly the case.

Built to resist massive damage, the bunker can protect up to 3 squads of Soviet infantry from all harm for a very long time. The bunker has been specially constructed in such a way that it even resist traditional methods of clearing garrisoned structures!
While the cost is much higher than traditional bunkers, the extra fortification means that it is worth the investment. Each bunker contains a special message of encouragement from premier Romanov!
it has been noted that troops fire and reload much faster from the safety of the Soviet bunker, a clever general will use this knowledge to his\her advantage!

Gameplay
The Soviet bunker is a tier 1 base defence, it replaces the Nod laser hub.
It is unique in the sense that it does not provide any offensive properties when first placed (it has no stealth detection), it needs to be filled with infantry!

A basic set up would be 1 rifle squad and 2 rocket squads. Which will provide reasonable protection against a wide array of enemy targets.

Has hinted in the introduction, anti garrison weapons do not work on the bunker, this means that your enemy will have to literally bust your bunker open in order to get the troops out!
It has a lot of health has well, plus it can be repaired like any normal base structure (no engineer repair though!).
Also any infantry unit inside the bunker receives a +50% rate of fire bonus!
While this may seem over the top remember that the cost of the bunker plus the troops to fill it is very high, a bunker with 1 rifle squad and 2 rocket squads is a total of $2200!

What should be obvious is that you have enormous flexibility to respond to various threats by using different infantry combination's in your bunker.
For anti mass infantry you can use 2 rifle squads instead of just one, if the infantry being countered are quite slow add a grenade squad or 2, etc. The highest anti tank configuration is obviously the triple rocket squad.
Together with the 50% rate of fire bonus that all infantry inside a Soviet bunker get, you've got a powerful anti tank-rush tool. You can combine this with a shredder hub (I like to 'hide' the hub behind the tough bunker for extra longevity) for an expensive to crack defensive combo!

Notice how the shredder hub is 'hidden' from the enemies attack path?

Once your bunker is filled, you basically have a static defence that can rank up!
Once the units inside are destroying the right kinds of targets, they'll usually rank up quite rapidly.
A bunker with all squads inside heroic is fearsome! maybe this thought will discourage tier 1 only spammers?

Finally any short range enemy aircraft had better not stick around long (especially around a triple rocket bunker!), they'll only be providing easy experience point for any rocket squads inside!

This is a waste of aircraft...

The troops inside the Soviet bunker will halt the advance from the west!

Update: New for Release 3!

A new Soviet Bunker to protect your troops!
The infantry types at the disposal of the union has vastly changed since release 2. Check newer reports to see what infantry you'll be placing in Bunkers in release 3.
