Ok well I love the ithilien, and I consider them the best archers due to longshot, even if they'll get destroyed by mirkwood up close.

But since this mod I've had some troubles with longshot, I'd put this in bugs section but I'm pretty sure its supposed to have shorter range which is part of my problem, but some things just don't quite add up, and plus I might throw in some ideas. Just an example of a problem with longshot is once my ithilien actually ran to the point I'd targeted with longshot before firing it off, so I lost all but two from that battalion. Countless other times my ithilien have gotten within reg range before I called them off to make sure they didn't do the same thing. Could someone please explain their crazy behavior to me? Please ;)

Now I have a suggestion: Could you change longshot to be more like the generic archer barrage ability where they just shoot arching shots to a designated area? Basically just change it so that they go farther, Idk if this is possible, but I don't want you guys to go to too much trouble, you've done plenty as is ;)

Anyhow, if you could get it to work like that(which would be awesome :) ) could you make it recharge faster, even if it is at the cost of its power, it really bothers me to SEE them have to wait forever to recharge their ability to shoot farther, it just doesn't make sense to me.

Just one more thing, do you think, if you get it to work like a long-range barrage, you could allow the fire arrow upgrade to take a part, I guess it already would if you programmed it like a regular barrage, but I really don't know much of anything about coding, especially not with this game.

Thanks for reading and I hope my idea isn't a tough one, I'd love to see a more sensible system with all of this.

Good idea...

I do not like anything that ressembles magic abilities given to normal units, and the long shot actually is a sort of powerfull spell, rather a rain of deadly fire arrows than an archer barrage... there are two possibilities I will test :

1) change the actual bombard ability... if we simply increased the range and lowered the rate of fire, we might get a long shot barrage that would look much more realistic... also, but I don't know if it can be done (why shouldn't it...), we might make the target area a bit wider ; and remove the original long shot

2) change the long shot to a sort of long range snipe... not as long as it is, almost as deadly as it is, but to a concrete horde only, not anybody within the targeted area... a sort of Faramir's Wound Arrow...

I think I would even combine them both... the improved bombard would be given to all archers (with different values for different types of archers), and the snipe shot to the elite archers only, for the rangers accessible in their special ambush formation only ; a thing I test giving them +25% damage and -50% speed; with the following disposition :
