Not sure how many people visit the music section here but out of those who do, do any of you like any 'electronic' music genres such as breaks, house, dubstep, techno, trance etc

If so, which genres?

I can't help but feel like I'm the only one on Revora who listens to electronic music xD

A lot of dubstep and the more funky electronica, and I have more than a few mates with decks of their own who mess around with all the various kinds. I've found proper D'n'B is a bit hit-and-miss, though, so I tend to prefer stuff with more character.

By the way, I know Olli's pretty big into this whole genre too. You're not the only one. :tongevil:

A good source for this sort of music is... Robotica. Think that's the group's name... they make music that is reminiscent to the emotions of robots.

Psy-trance is my favorite. Mainly Infected Mushroom

Then we got a bit of Sphongle, which is a bit more ambient than Infected Mushroom, but still very fancy

Oh, and people apparently prefer to get stoned on stuff while listening to this sort of music. I find it fun to listen to it anyway, but that's just me.

Ahh... no wonder people want to be stoned in 'When Shall I Be Free'. You can hardly understand the announcer trying to brain-wash you when you're sober.

Electronica is sometimes fun, so is darkwave. But I can't deal with stuff like trance very well - it just sounds too often like a random arrangement of random noises, or a bombarding torrent of the word 'unce' 5000 times a minute. But if it has an edge and a tune, I can generally cope.

Agreed. That's why I find Robotika to be super.

Here's a good taste in their work:

I myself enjoy the bouncier side of electronic music, touching on House, Minimal & Techno, whilst still thoroughly enjoying bassier genres such as Breaks, Dubstep and Fidget. Like Ash, I find Trance a little too much. I have a few friends who enjoy Psy-Trance and I can by all means listen to it, as I can most things but not too much. I enjoy myself a nice slice of melodic, rhythmic bleeps and squeaks complimented by a pulsating bassline brought altogether with nice lovely bouncy beat. I'll whip up a little mix sometime to give you all a little taste seeing as everyone seems to be sharing their personal preferred sound. :)

I cannot outline my taste of music by any genre. I judge music by itself, or its creator. So I'll have to say yes, I do like some electronic music.

I do also listen to some electronic music, yes :) Not sure which genres of it (though I do like a lot of it), but stuff like Faithless is quite good imo.
It has been reported that some victims of rape, during the act, would retreat into a fantasy world from which they could not WAKE UP. In this catatonic state, the victim lived in a world just like their normal one, except they weren't being raped. The only way that they realized they needed to WAKE UP was a note they found in their fantasy world. It would tell them about their condition, and tell them to WAKE UP. Even then, it would often take months until they were ready to discard their fantasy world and PLEASE WAKE UP

I'm on Grimson's side. I can find some good music in most genres. Of course, more in some than others.
Having said that, I generally rather enjoy mixes of electronic and more classical instruments.

Give examples of what you are talking about or you are just spamming the thread :)

zombie nation is pretty good :)

I like techno with a good baseline and stuff, and that trance music(which i've only heard a tiny bit of) doesn't really appeal to me, as has been said, its a bit to mashed together :/

Ah... Zombie Nation... Settled on the rocks of absolute. I don't like their ones with lyrics though.

just found Pendulum, some electronic DnB band. It hit straight home with me, a nice combination smooth electronic sounds with alot of bass-notes and melodic/epic themes
