That said, I love me some Avatar
And agreed, Invader Zim was the shit. So was Samurai Jack, Megas XLR, Ed Edd 'n Eddy, and a few others I dimly recall.

Since when? If it was ever good - ever - it has since been ruined by Naruto and furry-fuel.
Ah but those are crappy animes. I'm talking about the good, dark stuff, like Death Note.

Ah... good ol' Death Note. Nothing beats a bunch of dubbed japs screaming around while doing illogical things for the sake of violence. Well... besides everything (maybe Avatar as an exception) that was already mentioned in this topic.Ah but those are crappy animes. I'm talking about the good, dark stuff, like Death Note.
Death Note my beak! Get some Pinky and the Brain in ya'!

Johnny Bravo for the win
I have season 1 on DVD and it's awesome can't wait to get season 2.
Tintin was awesome too.
Dangermouse,Bananaman,Avenger Penguins,Trapdoor,Widget etc were also really cool.
Oh and Twins of Destiny as well of course
I watched a bit of Death Note and it didn't appeal to me,a lot of my friends are into Bleach which is another one I don't follow.
The big Animes for me are Zoids,Dragonball (Z,GT),Cowboy Beebop,Samurai Champloo,Ghost and the Shell and Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Because comparing the same things usually provides some really interesting differences, right?Anime is not the same thing, hence cannot be compared.

It is always ridiculously stupid to compare two contrasting ideas or objects that it just doesn't matter. There's really no point in doing so.Because comparing the same things usually provides some really interesting differences, right?

Sorry, what? A cartoon's a fucking cartoon, regardless of the age-range, intellect or ability to comprehend absurdly abstract metaphor of the intended audience. And last I looked, anime was cartoons. In the same way 'graphic novels' are comic-books. It doesn't matter how you dress it up and make it seem more acceptable to tell to friends over the age of 14, there's no denying it. There's no shame in accepting it either.

Space ghost - Coast to Coast!
Dragonball Z (origional series).
Courage the cowardly dog.
All of the above were the staple diet of my cartoon viewing

Not a whole episode. I found myself watching the middle and end and not being able to make sense of anything. I found myself that way with Yu-Gi-Oh a few times too, so maybe it's a translation thing.Ah... good ol' Death Note. Nothing beats a bunch of dubbed japs screaming around while doing illogical things for the sake of violence.
