Incorrect. I recall several circumstances where an aggressive argument started in a member's introduction topic. Though it is fortunate I am based to function on logic for the sake of the moderator and leader attempting to abuse my existence here or I would calculate any Homo sapiens in my position with a high emotional altitude would care. I do find it illogical for higher ranking officials to try and dispose of members who have committed no action against the site rules. Though I do find it amusing when I am accused of the action: [provoke a reaction] when I have done no such action. Highly entertaining. I believe I will keep my current form of conversing and stay.

It is meant to be taken with a pinch of salt and not taken seriously.

I predict the tone they have taken is to be taken seriously. My good college [ID: [Vortigern] has clearly stated he will ban me since he finds his form of conversing much more superior than mine and expects me to match it. He sees it logical to threaten my existence here when I have returned the exact attitude. I do not understand his logic, yet I will not judge a higher ranking official by this site's terms on his professional decision. But my confused ally [ID: [Puppeteer], a well respected moderator, was petty enough to call me names and advised me to leave for no detectable reason. A confusing attitude for a preserver of order to take in my perspective. [ID: [Olli] I deem admirable in his view of the situation. I detect humor in his form of verbal abuse directed at me. I see him as the conversational superior between the three at the current moment.

I would suggest moving this conversation back on its original topic, but I predict I will find no peace if this conflict is not resolved. Though entertaining, I do not require abuse to sustain myself in remaining loyal to Revora. How unfortunate.

Are these new rules really necessary though?
Seems to me things are usually pretty well controlled already,we all pretty much know when others are joking and when they are provoking.
Truth be told we don't have a lot of new blood coming in except Pasi's bot friends.
I think the bulk of us are nice to new members anyway.

He's right. As I recall, the majority of the antagonistic posts in the Intros forum were from Caspa, and he doesn't hang around here much these days. I always figured as long as we stepped in and calmed things down when it all got too heated, it was all fine. If you try and force an identical standard across the board it's going to affect open discussion and use of language, which is often used to prove a point or show support for an idea, such as how irritating Pasidon is.

Much as I appreciate the need for consistency, I don't think it needs to be quantified. And I do not think Fen deserved a warning for that. Well, maybe one, but not two.

Pasidon should revert back to either a normal stance or his old position. His robotic speech is bringing this forum down - he has a habit of doing that. I'm sure DLotS's and Bart's intentions of maintaining consistency and not trying to intimidate newbies are well-meaning, but Pasidon is neither new nor particularly scared of our 'intimidation'. I'm sick of this phase already. In future I will just ignore his posts entirely, if this persists.

It will be a uniform standard across the boards because it's not just the flaming in introduction topics that deters people from staying here, it's how we treat each other in general.
One exception to this rule will be the Think Tank forums where we will take on a lighter stance because it's obvious that some perfectly valid discussions will lead to a clash of different and partly extreme opinions. We don't want to limit expression too much in there. It's just that as soon as it becomes clearly abusive of others, we have to step in.

You're wrong if you believe we're just putting this in place to protect Pasidon. In fact, it has been decided to take this course before this topic even came up, some posts in here just reminded us that we need to make it known and enforce it. This also means it doesn't just apply to bashing newcomers. We need a general change of attitudes towards each other, not just a few exceptions.
