Hi I am looking at buying a HD TV to use as my monitor for my PC

My graphics card supports DVI , VGA , HDTV

I want the HDTV to have these inputs as well as RCA input Video / Audio

AND : This is the important feature

The Supported Computer res must be 1440 X 900

---------------------------------------------------

I have seen HDTV that says its 1440 900 for normal TV use
and supported computer res at say 1280 x 768 (WXGA)

an example of this is
Philips Magnavox 19MF338B

------------------------------------------------------------

I want supported computer res at 1440 900
an example of this is
ApexLd1919

This one ( ApexLd1919 ) has some seriously BAD reviews

Any similiar to this one with GODD Reviews
I will continue searching the internet ...

Just get the right cable. Mine stinks, but it was made for jacking TV's / Game Consuls to a laptop screen. You have a regular monitor, so go to Radio Shack or something.

You mean connect the RCA cables to the monitor right
But what about switching inputs that a TV usually Allows ?
So that I see my monitor OR my Cable TV stuff ?
And what about sound ? I will have to then buy speakers for the Cable stuff

I was drooling over this one : a 1080p HDTV 19" at 1920X1080

Well the things that usually are on a TV aren't on a Monitor all the time. That's why I would take the monitor into Radio Shack and they'll tell you the best thing possible.

And you'll probably need speakers.

Not if you use HDMI since it carries sound. If he found an HDMI monitor with speakers built in, he could go right with that, no extra parts required short of an adapter or a cable.

That's why I said, "Probably need speakers" since those built in speakers are never any good.

Not if you use HDMI since it carries sound.

But do HDMI outputs on PCs include the sound? They are on the graphics card after all.

Sauron, you should connect your PC with HDMI because that'll get you maximum use out of the TV. VGA ports on new TVs are often only half supported, such as at low resolution.

Well I already have a pretty good Monitor
1440 900 19" VGA DVI Input

---------------------------------------------------
I tried using my TV tuner Card to watch DirectTv
looks a bit crappy

Then I tried using my Normal Tv as a monitor to play games / Surf web
res is a bit low !I can't make out ANYTHING !

---------------------------------------------
So I thought of this :
Buy a HDTV with several inputs
hook up the Computer to the HDTV with great Res : 1080p 1920X1080
Hook up DirectTv to another input

1. I can then watch DirectTv on one input
2. Use the same screen as a monitor with (Hopefully ) great res ( at least 1440 900) on another input
3. Hook up the Direct TV to the Tvtuner card so I can RECORD the DirectTV stuff on my PC
------------------------------------
Thanks for the Advice ,I have my eye on the
Samsung 5IN WS LCD TV HDTV 1080P 1920X1080 10000:1 DVI HDMI TUNER - 933HDPLUS

If you know a better one for the same / less price then good !

You could just use that HDYV as a monitor, yea. Most TV screens don't have as good a resolution as computer monitors, but they can get bigger / have more functions.
