Weird Voxel Problem

hi there..

once i downloaded someone's remake of warminer

based on concept art.

it's great though it lacks its horv

so i tried to make one.

it must look like this

whats wrong with this?

isnt this an odd hva problem or what?

Actually, it's a problem with the voxel, not hva. All 3 voxel sections have index number 0, so the game can't distinguish between them. Change them to 0, 1 and 2, and everything will be fine.

oh thanks... fixed the voxel index's;
somehow improved though the turret went missing.

The miner's back section has some empty spaces which intersect the turret. Removing the empty spaces (by resizing the section) should fix this. This is because of the order the game draws sections: when 2 sections intersect in the hva, then on some angles the larger one will be drawn on top, even if the smaller should be.

This may be confusing, as the OS HVA Builder doesn't draw voxels and sections same way as the game does. To see how the sections will get sorted ingame use the built-in hva editor from VXL SE 2.1 (though it may be difficult to get used to it).

is it here? i set the back's max y to 20 from 26

That's the bounds, you need to use "Resize canvas" (Ctrl+R).

I did it by copying the layers, and it saved me some work. However, it doesn't copy normals, so I had to do them myself.
