What do you want to edit in the gamedata.ini? maybe you can do it via scripts :p
I dont think its possible for only one map.

Stuff like build speeds, units health and damage, stuff like that.

How would I edit if for the whole game then without changing it permanetly?

Unit health and buildspeed? But thats not defined by the gamedata.ini... only by the defines in it :p
You would have to make in the Map.ini different objects (each of which already exist, i think you know how...)
And then you edit all of the buildcosts/speeds health and weapons... A lot of work, but thats how you do what you want.

Build speeds and health and stuff you take from the object's own (object).ini file and weapon stuff you take from weapon.ini (where you see stuff like MORDOR_DRUMMER_TROLL_ATTACK_RANGE that is where gamedata comes in because that's where you find the values that correspond with the caps bits) you should read a tutorial or two on ini coding and particularly the use of ReplaceModule and in which cases you just copy and edit the values.
