Hi!

I just started to port "Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive" to Commandos BEL.
At the moment only the first map is available (without enemies).

My future plans:
- porting more maps
- inserting the character sprites (cowboys) from Desperados
- creating challenging missions

Download test map

check your step:

1.extraction the all files from WARGAME.DIR
2.replace datos folder after extraction.
3.Copy the folder DATOS from this package into the existing one in your Commandos Installation path.

me can natural display the map and to playing.

This is gonna be great again, you just know it. After Desperados Spellbound made 'Robin Hood - Legend of Sherwood'. I like the environments in that one, if they used the same models for it and those can be used....

currently i'm playing helldorado (aka desperados 3), and wondered how cool would it be to base a commandos mod on it, as a total conversion...

Is it possible to edit the Helldorado files?

as a first step, it is possible to extract files from the .pak archives, with the aim of this tool and the helldorado plugin below:
http://aluigi.alterv...rs.htm#quickbms
the graphic files are directly and completley accesble in .dds format, even the maps have a single terrain file with all the terrain graphics and shadows of the entire map. i'm not sure about the 3d models and map data files. it was just a not really estabilished idea from me, sorry :) the conversion of wanted dead or alive maps seems to be a more realistic option.

Extracting and repacking the *.pak files should be no problem with this file: Attached File  sbpacker.exe   76KB   773 downloads(There's no tree structure when I extract it with quickbms. Is that normal?)

Helldorado and Desperados 2 were created with Trinig Vision.
If we had this SDK we could edit the game files (*.model, *.anim, *.vscene, ...) and even export them to 3ds Max or Maya.

Finally set this rendering-engine! All works on fine - models can be kept in a .model format through 3dmax (plugin included), there are videolessons but for the detailed study it is necessary a bit to time...

Hi Xelono,
you are talking about Desperados 1, right?

Well, here are the tools to extract the *.dvf, *.dvm and *.dvd files:
[EDIT] Faulty link removed, see my following post for the working link
(Don't pay attention to the train sprites, initially I uploaded this rar for another user)

Please note that the DVF Extractor.exe doesn't always work, better use the Java version.
And the DVD Extractor doesn't extract the whole file, only the MASK section.
