Hey everyone, I have made a map in which it will become the first campaign mission for my mod. For some reason, the game wont run the mod with the map. I have looked through all the topics and havent found one answer to my question. So the map and my mod links are attached at the bottom of this post.

Thanks in advance.

What happens when you try to run the map? Does it crash the game? Does it come up black? If so, it might be to do with your teams and objects on the map (i'm guessing this is a singleplayer mission right?) ;)

Well it crashes as it loads up (its for ROTWK but probably similar compared to BFME1).

Yeah I want to make it a campaign mission but first see if the scripts will run in skirmish.
Wait... what?

When it crashes does it come up with an error message? If so then could you quote what it says or take a screenshot?

Just says game.dat and nothing else. Just to describe how it occurs, I try to load up my mod (double click), shows the splash, then crashes (by splash I mean when you double click the program to run).

@Puzzler: Thanks for the speedy reply, never got one so fast ;)
Wait... what?

Hmm maybe a little more background info?

What is your computer?
Are there any similar reports about the mod?

Wait...

(its for ROTWK but probably similar compared to BFME1)

Are you using a ROTWK mod on BFME I?

If not then I would suggest uninstallation + remove any leftover files (perhaps a little ccleaner?) and then reinstall + re-mod it. It tends to work.

No, sorry if I wasnt clear. It works with Vanilla ROTWK fine, but with my mod it crashes. And obviously the mod is for ROTWK but the worldbuilder problem should apply to all BFME's. Also the map is for ROTWK (So everything ROTWK, but people from all BFME's can help thats what I meant ;) ). I think I can solve it but I need a little help... How do I make a mapcache? Maybe if I make a mapfolder in my mod folder add the map and the mapcache, it could work.....

If the map works on vanilla rotwk, but not with your mod, it suggests that there's some sort of conflict between your mod and your map

Have you used custom assets in the map? Are you trying to run your mod with the big file that doesn't have a gamedata.ini? Otherwise it might be a problem with an object's code. Have you got a map.ini that might be the cause?

If the map doesn't work with the mod, a map cache prob won't fix anything ;)

1. Custom assets: yes
2. No its a folder mod.
3. No, no map ini, but I considered it.
4. Ah but its probably not ofcourse (just trying my best to be optimistic).

;) Thanks and please keep on trying, while I keep on testing

offtopic: (sometimes I wish I see moddders in RL but ohwell) :p

I don't understand how the map could have anything to do with it. If it crashes after the splash screen before the game has even reached the main menu then it should be nothing to do with your map, though I reckon it's possible that it's the map cache if you don't have that.

No when the mod loads up with the map in the map folder(in my lord of the rings, rise of the witch king files), it causes it to crash as soon as it opens up to the splash screen.

Ok I'd say there's a 99% chance that it's the mapcache.ini
I can't access that right now (the computer with it on is downstairs, and it's being used) so in the mean time can you check that your map.str file (if you have one) is readable and there aren't any words which don't form part of a block (missing an 'End' or mistakenly putting in some unreadable text).

So yeah there is no map.str until I get the map working in game. So thanks! And please take your time!

Sorry I didn't reply about the mapcache.ini in time. Nice to see it work. Are you sure the mapcache positions fit with those in the map? Maybe the mod is at fault here? Something might conflict with worldbuilder? Not sure really...
