Petroglyph has just announced a new MMORTS game called End of Nations! Here is a small overview of the storyline of the game:

Anarchy followed in the wake of the economic collapse of the 21st century, but a new superpower, the Order of Nations, emerged from the shadows to restore order -- by force.

Armed with an array of advanced technologies, this new world order promised it would never allow another global disaster, but the price was unquestioned obedience. Benevolence quickly turned to tyranny as individual freedom and cultural identity were crushed under the tank-treads of the Order of Nations.

Revolutionaries everywhere are now banding together to challenge this totalitarian enemy in the ultimate war for the future of mankind.

The term MMORTS isn't something thats used frequently, so just to jostle your imagination, here are just a few of the features that the game holds:

Cooperate & Conquer: Team up with legions of fellow Commanders and take part in a game-wide cooperative effort on a massive scale. Complete large-scale missions and experience true camaraderie on the battlefield as you campaign against a foe too great for any one Commander to handle.

Persistent RTS Action
: Whenever you want, engage in ongoing conflicts where you can join, leave, and play in a massive persistent world. Take on the Order of Nations independently or with a group of other Commanders; or clash with rival Commanders in faction-versus-faction battles.

Command Through the Ranks: Battle alongside both new recruits and veteran commanders, where every shot fired, mission completed, and battle won will grant your Commander experience points. Increase your rank, unlock new units and abilities, and expand your headquarters over time.

Design the Perfect Strategy: Whether you hand-pick individual units from the battalions you’ve acquired, or deploy entire battalion sets for their powerful bonus abilities, you can design the perfect battlefield strategy from a vast array of unit combinations.

If you're still not sure what an MMORTS is then check out this page.

Please visit the official homepage of the Order of Nations and also their community forums, don't forget to visit the Petroglyph forums for the latest community discussion there too.

If you feel as though you still have some more questions then please read the FAQ and hopefully you're question will be answered in there, otherwise you'll just have to keep your eyes peeled for more news!

Here are some of the earliest screenshots released of the game so far:

It's an interesting concept, I'll keep an eye on it.

Soul 2.4

Background process. Has something to do with some activity going on somewhere. Sorting junkmail, I think. No value or interest. Doesn't do much except hog resource.

Too bad I can't start playing any MMO games. The probability of addiction is just too high

One of the units in the screenshot that is in the right border reminds me the Inferno Cannon from Generals .

Yeah sorry about the late news post, been rather late due to life stuff keeping me busy. The game is extremely promising and I'm looking forward to the MMO concepts put into RTS format and vice-versa. I've just made a section for it so everyone can discuss the game a little bit more.

Yeah, I'm sure the graphics will be improved later on, at the moment the conceptual basis of the game with the actual gameplay will be taking a priority over graphics, which to be honest I'd prefer. Graphics mean little to me when playing an RTS, yes it makes it more pleasing to look at, but I still play SC1, RA2 and I love them just as much as the new ones.
