Just to add: 3ds max 8 has a issue with .dds textures.

Thanks for the heads up and the good luck :) and i'll be honest, i have little idea what i'm doing besides making the models. It'll be lots of trial and error but i'm committed. I'll just look up some tuts on the site. And if someone could move this to showcase when i get enough work done i'd love that, opposed to making a new thread.

Max 8 has a problem with .dds?
I've always used .tga textures for BFME stuff anyways, and converted (if bothered) at releases...
So Max 8 is the way to go imo :p

Yeah, the main probleman with TGA is the size...and SAGE takes more time to read them (C&C Generals lagging experience :p)

So .dds is better :blink:

I'm still trying to work out a solution for 3ds max 8. Apparently there are a few scripts (that i have) that needs to be compilled in the 3ds Max 8 SDK, but i don't have it...

.TGA May work better for the BFME series then, idk i'm not terribly smart when it comes to this :p

Well, I don't have any problems with using .dds textures on Max8, AFAIK, it's just that I can't export models with it.. then the model's just grey :p Thus I always use tga, and convert, only if bothered, at realease..

But yeah, dds are alot smaller :p
