Star Wars Empire at War: Gold Pack has just been put up on Steam for £14.99, that's around $21 (at the moment). A lot of people have been waiting for this to be released on Steam as I for one have lost my disc, more specifically Forces of Corruption Disk, which luckily I never uninstalled from my desktop...

One hopes that this will bring a resurgence to the Empire at War community with lots of people now preferring the digital download option, that should bring more players in and at this stage in the community, I would personally argue that I need new fresh meat to slay online.

Hopefully this move will push Empire at War, one of the best RTS games of its era back onto the market and back into peoples minds.

If you haven't played the game before or not even thought about it make sure you view the Steam Empire at War page.

Amazon UK offers it for £10, so 67%, and then you get a box too :p

I'll just wait for a special offer (like for UaW), then I get it at a low price without the need for a box.

How much do you pay for shipping it to your place?

£1 per item, £4 per delivery. If you order just EaW it'll make the price the same as online (but you still get a box) but I always order multiple items per shipment.

You have to remember though that a lot people no longer want boxes and discs. I remember A LOT of people wanting the EaW series to be put on Steam simply because they couldn't get the game from stores and most online retailers did not have many of them, so they wanted it available from places like Steam and Direct2Drive.

Yes you can get it cheaper online but I now find it much easier to have it directly installed without the use for a CD, just for the record cracks are illegitimate and won't even move on to talk about them.

Having things on Steam is far easier than having a box, people say the comfort of having the box is better, but for me I don't need to carry suitcases of games around with me, all I need is my Steam ID and password and D2D information, which frankly I don't need my hands for :p
