Northern Ireland, 1969 to 2005?Civil war? Only someone with the most superficial take on history could believe that at this moment in time. Especially if you're applying it to the UK - we had one civil war not between dynastic houses/families in the stable period of Kingdom of England, and it hardly counts ...

Except [a]that wasn't economic; [b]that was a period of colonies contesting imperialism - an entirely different era from modern history; [c]that involved the Irish Free State/Eire, and so wasn't a civil war in the same circumstances; [d] it wasn't a revolution either; and [e]you really think that a war will break out, with causes and grievances equal to the long-running conflict and controversies in Ireland?
Superficial.
Also, did you get that date from Wikipedia? That's a really arbitrary figure - it'd officially go back to 1919.
You can talk about political correctness. You can talk about double standards. You can talk about religious qualms. Fine, that's subjective - you're entitled to do so, although others may not agree. But don't abuse history with Foxesque references and tenuous connections, when you clearly have little idea about what you're talking about.

Hehehe.by leading media (for instance in the London Daily Mail)
Puppeteer's right, there's bugger all chance of civil war in Britain, and probably anywhere else. That's not how things are done any more. If somebody new wants power, they'll go through the usual channels. They'll start a new party, they'll not get elected, they'll get pissed off and they'll go on some reality TV show and then everyone will forget about them. It's a bitch of a system, but it ain't going to change any time soon.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

I find myself agreeing with you far too often, Romanul. That's usually a bad sign. Maybe you should be a little more sensible.
That's because,no matter how much screwed up I can be,I'm probably the perfect political idealist.
On short:I managed to see enough political shit from where I come,I do have enough historical knowledge of the past century and probably I'm sick of 95% of the politicians I know here.

That's a mutual global feeling.
