I thought of it, I can't say it's the best idea but what's awesome is I'm far from the only person who thought of it. :D

Maybe a nuke isn't the best idea, but they should have blown up the oil well right at the beginning, and stopped these millions of barrels of oil pouring into the sea, but I guess that's what happens if you let a corporation deal with an ecological disaster.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

People o(ff)nline are idiots... that's not news.

Why nuke the ocean when you can nuke the people responsible... American Engineering. I enjoy watching the rich hogs at BP being blamed, but its not their fault that, once again, the engineer's corporations of America failed again and left a puss-poor job remain puss-poor. But I've been thinking... the seas turning black and suffocating life is more awesome than problematic. I'm all for going black... why nuke something so beautiful...

nukeing it would not be the right idea it may burn up all the oil (good) but cause a really bad effect on the coast lines that have to suffer with the radiation.(bad)

The problem is not engineering but maintenance. Because BP, as a company with shareholders, is focused on short-term profit they skipped some important maintenance operation that would have required the platform to be unoperational for a while. Had they not been on the stock exchange, they'd just have done it, with a "we'll make up for it next year".

I was aware that it was pre-existing problems from the initial engineering that caused the problems, not maintenance.

and Pasidon you sound like the goth emo girl i used to date :p
